AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY BE ALLOWED TO FURNISH TELEPHONE SERVICE IN THE AREA KNOWN AS THE GREATER FORT WORTH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT AREA, DULY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH BY ORDINANCE NO. 2544, ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL JUNE 17, 1948, ON THE SAME TERMS AND CON➢ITIONS AS HERETOFORE AND NOW PREVAILING IN SAID AREA, AND PROVIDING THAT NO CHANGES SHALL BE MADE IN THE RATES AND I CHARGES EXISTING ON THE DATE SAID AREA WAS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE CHARACTER OF SERVICE FURNISHED AND REN- DERED IN THAT AREA; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL OTHER ORDINANCES REGULATING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR TELEPHONE SERVICE, EXCEPT IN SO FAR AS THIS ORDI- NANCE MAY BE IN DIRECT CONFLICT WITH PROVISIONS OF THOSE OR- DINANCES, IN WHICH INSTANCE SAID PROVISIONS ARE HEREBY EX- PRESSLY REPEALED; AND DESIGNATING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth by Ordinance No. 25", adopted June 17, 1948, has annexed the area known as the Greater Fort Worth In- ternational Airport Area, and thereby has extended substantially the city's corporate boundaries; and, WHEREAS, the said annexed area lies beyond the practical limits of furnishing local telephone service from the Fort Worth exchange; and, WHEREAS, the said annexed area is now provided telephone service from another exchange; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That until otherwise ordered by appropriate regulation, the area annexed to the City of Fort Worth by, and described in, Ordinance No. 2544, adopted the 17th day of June, 1948, to which ordinance reference is here made for the purpose of definitely fixing the area referred to herein, said area being commonly described and known as the Greater Fort Worth International Airport Area, shall not be included in the local ex- change service area of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Compiny's Fort Worth exchange. The Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is authorized to furnish and render telephone service in the said area upon the terms, conditions and at the rates in effect and provided for for telephone service in the area at the time it was annexed to the City of Fort Worth. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be cumlative of all other ordinances regulating rates to be charged for telephone service, except in so far as the provisions of this ordinance may be in conflict with those ordi— nances, in which instance the provisions of those ordinances are hereby expressly repealed. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and ef— fect from and after the date the aforesaid area was duly annexed to the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of said City.
