AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT:
XIARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE IlMPRDVFIHENT OF PORTIONS OF TOWNSEND
DRIVE, FIFTH AVENUE, HUNBERT AVENUE, COLLIN STREET, HOWARD STREET,
COLLIN STREET, GARDENIA STREET, FARNSWORTH AVENUE, HOWARD STREET,
SAINT LOUIS AVENUE, MISSOURI AVENUE, TOWNSEND DRIVE, KILPATRICK
AVENUE, BIDDISON STREET, CURZON AVENUE, AND NORTHWEST TWENTY-SECOND
STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT NORTH, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXE-
CUTION: MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR THE INDEBTEDNESS INCURRED THEEMY:
AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE .ESTIMATES.
WHEREAS, by Ordinances passed and approved by the City Council of the City
of Fort Worth, being Ordinances Nos. 3427, 3457, 3458, 3459, 3512, 3513, 35140
3515, 3516, 3517, 3518, 3519, 3520, 3521, 3525, and 3532, the City determined the
necessity for and ordered the improvement of portions of streets at sixteen (16)
locations, to wit:
TOWNSEND DRIVE: from the southerly line of Yates Street to the northerly
line of Covert Street, known and designated as Unit No. 1.
FIFTH AVENUE: from the southerly line of Boyce Avenue to the northerly line
of Spurgeon Street, known and designated as Unit No. 2.
HUMBERT AVENUE: from the westerly line of Bourine Street to the easterly
line of Faron Street, known and designated as Unit No. 3.
COLLIN STREET: from the westerly line of Miller Street to the easterly line
of Rutan Street, known and designated as Unit No. 4.
HOWARD STREET: from the easterly line of Erath Street to the westerly line
of Shackleford Street, known and designated as Unit No. 5.
COLLIN STREET: from the easterly line of Wichita Street to the westerly line
of Foard Street, known and designated as Unit No. 6.
GARDENIA STREB2: from the easterly line of Trueland Drive to the westerly
line of Wichita Street, known and designated as Unit No. 7.
FARNSWORTH AVENUE: from the westerly line of Bourine Street to the easterly
line of-Faron Street, known and designated as Unit No. 8.
HOWARD STREET. from the easterly line of Tallmon Street to the westerly
line of Erath Street, known and designated as Unit No. 9.
SAINT LOUIS AVENUE: from the southerly line of Berry Street to the northerly
line of Shaw Street, known and designated as Unit No. 10.
— MISSOURI AVENUE: from the northerly line of Terrell Avenue to the southerly
line of Dashwood Street, known and designated as Unit No. 11.
TOWNSEND DRIVE: from the northerly line of McPherson Street to the southerly
line of Robert Street, known and designated as Unit No. 12.
KILPATRICK AVENUES: from the easterly line of Prevost Street to the westerly
line of Merrick Street, known and designated as Unit No. 13.
BIDDISON STREET: from the easterly line of the North-South Freeway to the
westerly line of Evans Avenue, known and designated as Unit No. 14.
CURZON AVENUE: from the easterly line of Faron Street to the westerly line
of Bourine Street, known and designated as Unit No. 15.
NORTHWEST TWENTY-SECOND STREET: from the northwesterly line of Lydon Street
to the southerly line of Macie Street, known and designated as Unit No. 16.
WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said Ordinances, Plans
and Specifications for said improvements were submitted by the Public Works
Director and said Plans and Specifications were approved and adopted by the
City Council; and,
WHEREAS, Notice to Bidders was given as required by the City Charter;
and,
WHEREAS, the bid of Texas Bitulithic Company was found to be the lowest
and best bid for the making and construction of said improvement, to-wit:
Excavation of present streets and placing 7P flexible base course with combined
curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances, and placing 1j" Hot Mix Asphaltic
Concrete Surface, all as provided by said plans and specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the work of making and constructing such improvements and contract
therefor is hereby awarded to Texas Bitulithic Company, at and for the prices
stated in the proposal of the said company and as reported and recommended by
the Public Works Department. The Mayor and City Secretary are hereby directed
to execute the said contract in the name of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and
to impress the corporate seal of the City thereon, the said Contract embracing
therein, among other things, the prices for the work.
SECTION 2.
That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness incurred by the City of
Fort Worth by said Contract, there is hereby appropriated out of available funds
which have been set aside for said purpose, an amount sufficient to pay said
indebtedness so incurred.
SECTION 3.
That the Public Works Director of the City of Fort Worth be and he is
hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council estimates of the
cost of such improvements in accordance with the terms of the powers and
provisions of Chapter 106 of the acts of the First called session of the
Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon's
Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, Annotated,which law has been adopted as an
amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort 4orth.

TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Referring to the report of the Public Works Department in connection with
bids for the improvement of streets at sixteen (16) locations, being portions
of Townsend Drive, Fifth Avenue, Humbert Avenue, Collin Street, Howard Street,
Gardenia Street, Farnsworth Avenue, Saint Louis Avenue, Missouri Avenue,
Kilpatrick Avenue, Siddison Street, Curzon Avenue, and Northwest Twenty-Second
Street, in the City of Fort North, Texas, and to the proposed contract therefor,
it appears that the amount which the City will pay in connection with such
Contract and improvements is the sum of Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars
475,000.00).
I do hereby certify to the City Council of the City of Fbrt Worth that
the money required for such contract and expenditures which will be incurred
thereby is in the Treasury to the credit of the Street Improvement Raid and
not appropriated for any other purpose.
