AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III OF ORDINANCE NO. 1692,
BEING AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC - -—
AND THE USE OF THE PUBLIC STREETS, HIGHWAYS, ROADWAYS
AND SIDEWALKS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, BY ADDING SEC-
TION 10b; PROVIDING THE MANNER IN WHICH VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
MAY BE PERMITTED TO ENTER AN INTERSECTION WHERE A RED,
AMBER OR YELLOW SIGNAL IS BEING DISPLAYED IN CONTINUOUS
FLASHES; AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECT ION 1.
That Article III of Ordinance No. 1692 be amended by adding there-
to Section 10b, which shall read as follows:
Section 10b.
1. Flashing Red Signal — Traffic approaching an in-
tersection where a red signal is being displayed in con-
tinuous flashes shall stop before entering the nearest
cross walk at the intersection and shall proceed to enter
the intersection with proper care to avoid an accident.
2. Flashing Amber or Yellow Signal — Traffic ap-
proaching an intersection where an amber or yellow signal
light is being displayed in continuous flashes shall not
enter the nearest cross-walk at a speed in excess of fif-
teen (15) miles per hour and shall proceed to enter the
intersection with proper care to avoid an accident.
SECTION 2.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance
or any rule or regulation made by the Chief of Police pursuant thereto shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
to exceed One Hundred Dollars ($100.00).
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and publication as provided by law*
