AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO
THE RESIDENT QUALIFIED TAXPAYING VOTERS IN THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, PROPOSITIONS FOR THE
ISSUANCE OF NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS OF SAID CITY
IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF THREE MILLION ($3,000,000.-
00) DOLLARS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING, IM-
PROVING AND EXTENDING THE STREETS, THOROUGHFARES
AND STORM SE7MRS OF SAID CITY; FOR IMPROVING AND
EXTENDING THE SYSTEM OF FIRE PROTECTION BY OCR—
STRUCTING, BUILDING AND EQUIPPING A NEW CENTRAL
FIRE STATION, ACQUIRING THE NECESSARY LAND THERE-
FOR AND IMPROVING AND EXTENDING THE FIRE ALARM
SIGNAL SYSTEM AND FOR ESTABLISHING EQUIPPING AND
IMPROVING A MUNICIPAL AIRPORT AND LANDING FIELD
FOR AEROPLANES AND OTHER AERIAL MACHINES AND AC-
QUIRING THE NECESSARY LAND& AND PROPERTY THEREFOR;
SAID BONDS TO BE IN SUCH DENOMINATION AS MAY BE
DETERMINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, MATURING FROM FIVE
(5) TO FORTY (4o) YEARS FROM THE DATE THEREOF,
BEARING INTEREST FROM THE DATE THEREOF AT A RATE
NOT TO EXCEED FIVE (5Jo) PER CENT PER ANNUM, PAY-
ABLE SEMI-ANNUALLY, EXPRESSED IN COUPON NOTES AT-
TACHED TO THE BONDS; CALLING AN ELECTION FOR THE
PURPOSE TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS,
ON TUESDAY, THE 25TH DAY OF JUKE, A. D. 1929.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH:
SECTION I.
That an election be held in the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, on Tue$dW. tits 25th days of June, A. D. 1929, at the
polling places hereinafter mentioned, between the hours of
Eight A. Y. and Seven P. 9. *t which election the following

($2,000,000.00) Dollars, for the purposQ of constructing,
improving and extending the streets, thoroughfares and storm
sewers of said City, including in such permanent improvements
the straightening, widening, paving, grade separation and drain-
age of said streets and thoroughfares, the first of said bonds
being payable at the expiration of five (5) years from the date
thereof, and serially thereafter as may be determined by the
said City Council, so that the last maturing bonds shall be-
come payable within forty (40) years from the date thereof,
bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five (5%) per cent
per annum from the date thereof„payable semi-annually, and
levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and
create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the
maturity thereof?
II.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City
Council, issue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from five
(5) to forty (4,0) years, in the principal sum of Five Hundred
Thousand 3500,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of improving
and extending the system of fire protection of said City by
constructing, building and equipping a new central fire station,
acquiring the necessary land therefor, and extending and im-
proving the fire alarm signal system, the first of said bonds
being payable at the expiration of five (5) years from the
date thereof, and serially thereafter as may be determined by
the said City Council, so that the last maturing bonds shall
become payable within forty (40) years from the date thereof,
bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five (5%) per cent
per annum from the date thereof, ,payable semi-annually, and
levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and
create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the
maturity thereof? I

III.
Shall the City of Fort Worth,. through its City
Council, issue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from five
- (5) to forty (40) years, in the principal sum of Five Hundred
Thousand ($500,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of establish-
ing, equipping, extending and improving a municipal airport
and landing field for aeroplanes and other aerial machines and
acquiring the necessary lands and property therefor, the first
of said bonds being payable at the expiration of five (5) years
from the date thereof, and serially thereafter as may be deter-
mined by the said City Council, so that the last maturing bonds
shall become payable within forty (40) years from the date
thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five (5%)
per cent per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annual-
ly, and levy a sufficient tax is pay the interest on said bonds
and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at
the maturity thereof?
IV.
Said election shall be held at the following places,

SECTION III.
That said election shall be held under the provi-
sions of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, the Con-
stitution and Laws of said State, insofar as same may be appli-
cable and resident qualified property taxpaying voters in said
City shall be allowed to vote upon said propositions.
SECTION IV.
Each proposition for the issuance of said bonds
shall be separately stated, so that the voters shall pass upon
each separately and apart from the others.
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the
street improvement bonds shall have written or printed upon
their ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of street improvement bonds,"
and those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of street improvement bonds".
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the
fire protection bonds shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of fire protection bonds#,
and those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of fire protection bonds".
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the
airport bonds shall have written or printed upon their ballots,
the words:
"For the issuance of airport bonds",
and those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of airport bonds".
SECTION V.
The way and manner of holding this special election,
the notice to be given therefor, the polling places, the per-
sonnel of the officers who are to hold the same, and all de-
tails connected with the holding of the election shall be de-
termined and arranged by the City Council and proper notice
of such matters shall be given in a proclamation by the Mayor.
SECTION VI.
That the Secretary-Treasurer is hereby ordered and
directed to' prepare ballots and stamp same "Official Ballot",
on which ballots shall be printed all the propositions as
have been set forth hereinbefore.
SECTION VII.
That all of said bonds shall be in such denomination
as may be determined by the City Council and shall mature serial-
ly, beginning at the expiration of five years and mature in the
regular order in which-they are numbered; making the last bonds
mature within forty (40) years from the date thereof, unless
the City Council, in the exercise of its discretion shall other-
wise provide for such maturity and said bonds shall be sold at
not less than par, and shall bear interest at a rate not to ex-
ceed five (5%) per cent per annum, payable semi-annually.
SECTION VIII.
That the Secretary-Treasurer shall furnish election
officials said ballots, together with any other forms or blanks
in accordance with the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and
the Laws of the State of Texas, insofar as same are applicable.
SECTION I%.
A copy of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor of
the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and attested by the City Secre-
tary-Treasurer, shall serve as a proper notice of said elec-
tion.
SECTION X.
The secretary-treasurer is hereby authorized and
directed to cause said notice of the election to be posted up
at each election precinct at least thirty days before the date
of said election.
SECTION XI.
The Secretary-Treasurer is further authorized and
directed to cause said notice of the election to be published
in some daily newspaper of general circulation once each peek
for four weeks prior to the date of said election.
SECTION XII.
The holding or adjudication of any section, portion,
or part hereof, to be invalid shall not affect the validity
of any section, portion or part of this Ordinance, but all such
other sections, portions and parts hereof shall be and remain
valid.
SECTION XIII.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and
it is so ordained.
