HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 4788 c'3J ORDI NANCE NO. �Z 7J_f' AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AN'> OFFICIAL RECORD ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY SECRETARY CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE CEDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN FT WORTH SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF TEX, SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FCRT WORTH, TEXAS: Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort alorth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEING a tract of land about 7 miles southwest from the Court- House of Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in and including all or part of the I & G N R.R. Co., J. Wilcox, J. H. Shultz, J. Burnett, and R. Burnett Surveys and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth said point being the northwest corner of the I & G N Railroad Company Survey. THENCE south, along the west lines of the I & G N Railroad Company and J. Wilcox Surveys, to the southwest corner of the J. Wilcox Survey in the north line of the J. B. McDermott Survey, the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth. THENCE east, along the north line of the J. B.McDermott Survey, the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, to its inter- section with the west line of the J. Shields Survey. THENCE north, along the west line of the J. Shields Survey, the east line of the R. Burnett Survey, the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, to the northeast corner of the R. Burnett Survey. THENCE west, along the north lines of the R. Burnett, J. Burnett, J. H. Shultz, and I & G N Railroad Company Surveys, the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, to the place of beginning and containing approximately .872 square miles. Section 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in con- flict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly amends Ordinance No. 3766, heretofore adopted and passed on January 7, 1963, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper pub- lished in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XMII of the City Charter. Section 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordi- nance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
