AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF WONDER DRIVE EAST BETWEEN WORMAR AVENUE AND THE EAST LINE OF WEDGWOOD ADDITION TO MINOT AVENUE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF SIMILAR ORDINANCES AFFECTING STREET NAMES; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND NAMING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the name of Wonder Drive East between Wormar Avenue and the east line of Wedgwood Addition is hereby changed to Minot Avenue. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances affecting the names of streets in the City of Fort Worth except insofar as it may be in conflict with the provisions of those ordinances, in which instance they are hereby expressly repealed. '}Sr i,.t• ''1�r City of Fort Worth, Texas wo**`* md"" Mayor and Council Co m nicationSUCY.MAN GRAHAM DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: Proposed Street Name Change PAGEAUGIN AUG' NUMBER Portion of Wonder Drive East 12/12/66 PZ-217 to Minot Avenue iof wEn In connection with review of a plat of Blocks 116 and 118 of South Hills Addition, the City Plan Commission determined that an extension of Wonder Drive East into the South Hills Additlori east of Woodway Drive should be designated as Minot Avenue, as shown dh the attached map, The City Plan Commission has subsequently reviewed the name of this street west of Woodway and proposes that the street name of Wonder Drive East be changed to Minot Avenue for the three blocks of east-west street between Wormar Avenue and Woodway Drive. The street name change is proposed in order to avoid confusion in street numbering and in finding street addtess locations. Difficulties were an- ticipated in establishing, street address numbers because Wonder Drive is chiefly a north-south street, and ]Kbiot Avenue is an east-west street. The United States Post Office, Public Works, City Planning, Traffic Engin- eering, Water and Police and Fire Departments and utilities companies have reviewed the request and do not object to the proposed street name change. No existing addresses will be affected by the street name change. Recommendation City Council action is requested: on the City Plan Commission recommendation to adopt an ordinance which has been prepared changing the name of Wonder Drive East to Minot Avenue betWeon Wormar Avenue and the east line of the Wedgwood Addition.
