Mr. James B. Davies, Jr. , representing Mr. Jack Newell, owner of all
adjoining property, has requested vacation of the north 203.5 feet of
Woodrow Street, as shown on the attached map. Approval of the request
will permit replatting of this street and development of the adjoining
property for industrial purposes. A preliminary plat of this subdivi-
sion has been approved by the Plan Commission and a final plat has been
submitted for approval, contingent upon the vacation of Woodrow Street.
Private utility companies, the Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineering,
Park and Recreation, and the Planning Departments have reviewed the re-
quest and do not object to the vacation. The Water Department has re-
quested, however, that this portion of Woodrow Street be reserved as an
easement for the existing water and sanitary sewer facilities.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the request and recommends adop-
tion of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating the street as re-
quested, subject to retaining the portion to be vacated as an easement
for the existing water and sanitary sewer facilities.
City Council action on the Plan Commission recommendation is requested.
