AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE FOLLOWING ALLEYS IN
J. W. WILLIAMS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND
CLOSED: THE ALLEY EAST OF WILLIAMS STREET BETWEEN
VICKERY BOULEVARD AND DAGGETT STREET AND THE ALLEY
WEST OF NEW YORK AVENUE BETWEEN VICKERY BOULEVARD
AND DAGGETT STREET; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF
THE FEE TO SAID LAND; RESERVING EASEMENTS FOR ALL EX-
ISTING PUBLIC UTILITIES; PROVIDING CERTAIN REQUIRE-
MENTS RELATIVE TO SEWER LINES; REPEALING ALL ORDI-
NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Fort Worth
that the alleys above described are not being used by the public and that
it is to the best interest of the public that said alleys be closed, aban-
doned and vacated as public thoroughfares and the fee to the land in said
alleys revert as provided by law; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the following described alleys in J. W. Williams Addition to
the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same are here-
by vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as alleys or public thorough-
faros of any kind or character whatever:
The alley east of Williams Street between Vickery
Boulevard and Daggett Street, and
The alley west of New York Avenue between Vickery
Boulevard and Daggett Street,
SECTION 2e
That the fee to the land in said alleys above described is hereby
released and will revert to the owners as provided by law, save and ex-
cept that easements are reserved for all existing public utilities, and
that prior to the issuance of any building permit for the erection of any
building to cover any portion of said alleys, the owners, at their ex-
pense, shall ai-ftnge with the City of Fort Worth either to replace the
existing sanitary sewer line with a cast iron line under any such build-
ing or to re-route said sanitary sewer line.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and ef-
fect from and after the date of its passage.
