BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT 17ORTH: SECTION I That unless it shall appear from the context that a different meaning is intended, the following words shall have the meaning attached to them by this section: addition and) The shallword meanftapn�ur' girrocundethatdhassbeenand divided into lots or blocks or into lots and blocks for the purpose of sale and in whh plot of ground space has been designated for streets an alleys. (b) The word "street" shall mean and include any street, alley, avenue, lane, public place or highway in- tended to be used as a thoroughfare by the public. SECTION II That urgent public necessity requires and it is highly imperative that all public improvements that are con- -1- templated or made in new additions to the City of Fort 'forth, whether such plats are situated within the limits of said City or at any point within a space of five thousand feet beyond said limits, should be made to harmonize with pro- jected improvements within the present City boundary lines. Such plats should carefully conserve the topography of the land requisite for sanitary influences and the streets and alleys in such additions should be conterminous with ad- joining streets and alleys. SECTION III That any plats that contain streets and alleys which fail to conform to the uniform system of streets and alleys established in this City constitute a menace to public health, greatly interfere with the convenience of the public and are dangerous to public safety. That such plats which do not contain public improvements such as streets, alleys, storm and sanitary sewers and drains that harmonize with similar public improvements in the present City of Fort forth, are a nuisance whether they exist with- in the ].units of said City or at any point within a space of five thousand feet beyond its boundary lines. SECTION IV It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, cor- poration, partnership or association of persons to sell or to undertake to sell any lot or lots in any tract of land that shall hereafter be platted, unless an accurate map of such plat has been presented to the City Plan Commission of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and said plat has been ap- proved by the City Uouncil of the city of Fort Worth. -2- SECTION V The said map or chart of such plat shall describe with certainty all land laid out or grantecT for streets, alleys, ways or public uses. It shall set forth the lots in said plat by numbers and show the location of each re- spectively, together with the precise length and width of each lot in said plat. SECTION VI The streets and alleys designated in said plat shall be conterminous with adjoining streets and alleys and shall otherwise conform to the existing streets and alleys in the City of Fort North, so that when the street and al- ley lines of such streets and alleys in the City of Fort Worth are projected they will properly coincide with street and al- ley lines of thoroughfares in the platted district. SECTION VII That all drains, storm sewers and sanitary sewers in said plats shall be installed and established in ac- cordance with the rules and regulations in force and effect in the City of Fort North for installing and establishing such improvements. SECTION VIII ➢fithin a reasonable time after the map of such plat has been presented to the Uity Plan Oommission of the City of Fort Worth that body shall submit same to the City -3- Council of the City of Fort north with its recommendations. After the said map and recommendations of the City Plan Commission have been submitted to the City Council, the said Council shall promptly approve or disapprove the plat as submitted. If any interested party be dissatisfied with the decision rendered by the City Council, he may, within ten days, present a petition in the District Court of Tarrant County, Texas, for the purpose of determining whether or not the said petitioner.has complied with the rules, regulations and ordinances of the City of Fort Worth governing the plat- ting of new additions. SECTION Ig Each and every days violation of this ordinance shall constitute a separate offense and shad be punishable as such. SECT ION g The holding or adjudication of Eny section or subdivision of any section or any part of any subdivision of a section of this ordinance to be invalid shall not affect the validity of any other section or part of a sub- division of a section thereof, but all of the other sec- tions, subdivisons of sections and parts of subdivisions of sections shall be and remain in full force and effect. SECTION XI This ordinance is hereby declared to be cumula- tive of all of the provisions of ordinances of a similar -4- nature and shall not be held to repeal any of the provisions of any of such ordinances, except in those instances where such ordinances are in direct conflict with the express pro- visions of this ordinance. SECTION XII Any person, firm, corporation, partnership or as- sociation of persons who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine in any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). SECTION XIII This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its pas- sage and five days publication as provided by law.
