Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, the 31st day of January, A. D.
1964, at the polling places hereinafter described, between
the hours of 7-00 o'clock A. M., and 7:00 o'clock P. M.,
at which election the following proposed amendments to the
Charter of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, shall be submitted
to the qualified electors of the City of Fort Worth:
AMENDMENT NO. 1.
Shall the Charter of the City of Fort Worth be
amended by adding to Chapter XXVIII thereof a new
section to read as follows:
Section 42.. Within thirty (30) days after the
adoption of this amendment, the City Council of the
City of Fort Worth shall provide by ordinance for
the establishment and operation of a park and recrea-
tion board consisting of seven (7) members, to be
known as the "Park and Recreation Board of the City
of Fort Worth," in lieu of the present Park Board and
Recreation Board heretofore provided for in Chapters
XVIII and XIX,- respectively, of the Charter of said
City, which chapters are hereby repealed, save and ex-
cept Sections 4 thereof. The jurisdiction, powers
and duties heretofore conferred or imposed upon said
Boards by the provisions of Section 4 of said chapters
shall be vested in, and assumed and performed by, the
Park and Recreation Board hereby authorized to be es-
tablished.
The City Council, when levying the taxes for each
fiscal year, shall levy an annual ad valorem tax of
not less than thirteen cents (139�) on each one hun-
dred dollars (4100.00) of assessed value of all real
and personal property in the City not exempt from
taxat�o-i by the Constitution and laws of the State
for the u5e and benefit of the Park and Recreation
Bo rd. Ir. .ddition thereto, said Park and Recreation

arising from the operation of the various park and
recreation grounds and facilities within the jurisdic-

said election, and the City Secretary shall see that proper
publication is made and proper notice of this election
is given, in full conformity with the Charter of the City
