AId ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LDIITS AND ANNEXING
CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH; PROVIDING THAT TIE ORDINANCE BE ADVMMETISED IN A
DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH
TIM PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF TEE CITY
CHAPTER; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT FEREWITH;
PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TIE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort
Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral
part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County,
Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land about 12 miles south from the Courthouse of Tarrant
County, Texas, and lying in and including all or part of the G. Hamilton, S A &
M G R.R., J. E. Phillips, J. Martin, Sarah Gray, Jno. Steele, and M. Robinson
Surveys and being more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of ,he City of Fort
Worth, the south -right-of-way line of County Road No. 1078 at its intersection
with the west right-of-way line of U. S. Highway Ho. 81; '
THENCE south along the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth,
the west right-of-way line of U. S. Highway No. 81 to a point 50 feet north
from the south line of Tarrant County, Texas;
THv1dCE west along the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth,
parallel to and 50 feet north from the youth line of Tarrant County, Texas, to
a point 500 feet west from the center line of U. S. Highway No. 81;
THENCE northerly along a line parallel to and 500 feet westerly from the
center line of U. S. Highway No. 81 to its intersection with the present City
Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, the south -right-of-way line of County
Road No. 1078;
TEENCE east along the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth,
the south right-of-way line of County Road No. 1078 to the place of beginning
and containing approximately .270 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in conflict
herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly amends Ordinance IeTos. 4823
and 4825, heretofore adopted and passed on July 15, 1963, but as to all other ordi-
nances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance
shalllm and is hereby made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published
in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter
XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance
is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of conpetent ,jurisdiction,
such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections,
clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and
indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon
its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the
date of.its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
