AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REPORT OF THE DEPARVENT OF
PUBLIC WORKS: AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF A PORTION OF BLEDSOE STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION, MAKING APPROPRIATION
FOR THE INDEBTEDNESS INCURRM THEREBY: AMID DIRECTIM TEE
CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE ESTIMATES.
WHEREAS, on the 12th day of July, 1950, by Ordinance passed and ap-
proved by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth being Ordinance No. 2780,
the City determined the necessity for and ordered the improvement of a portion
of Bledsoe Street, to-wit:
BLECtSOE STRET from the easterly line of University Drive to the
westerly line of Norwood Street.
WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said ordinance,
plans and specifications for said improvements were submitted by the Director
of Public Works and said plans and specifications were approved and adopted
by the City Council: and,
WHEREAS, notice to Bidders was given as required by the City Charter;
and,
WHEREAS, the Bid of the Worth Construction Company, Incorporated, was
found to be the lowest and best Bid for the making and construction of said im-
provements, to-wit, excavating present street, placing thereon a 2 inch compact-
ed gravel foundation course, and paving with 7 inches of reinforced concrete pave-
ment with combined concrete curb and gutter, together with incidentals and appur-
tenances, all as provided by said plans and specifications;
NOW, TgERnE'ORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the work of making and constructing such improvements and con-
tract therefor is hereby awarded to the Worth Construction Company, Incorporated,
at and for the prices stated in the proposal of the said comp�rV and as reported
and recommended by the Departmeat of Public Works. The Mayor and City Secretary
are hereby directed to execute the said contract in the name of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, and to impress the corporate seal of the City thereon, the said
Contract embracing therein, among other things, the prices for the work.
SECTION 2.
That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness incurred by the City
of Fort Worth by said contract, there is hereby appropriated out of available
funds which have been set aside for said purpose, an amount sufficient to pay
said indebtedness so incurred.
SECTION 3.
That the Director of Public Works of the City of Fort Worth be and he is
hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council estimates of the costs
of such improvements in accordance with the terms of the powers and provisions
of Chapter 106 of the acts of the First called Session of the Fortieth legislat-
ure of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon's Civil Statutes
of the State of Texas, Annotated, which law has been adopted as an amendment to
and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth..
