Members of the City Council Re: Request for deannexation of
City of Fort Worth area near Kennedale
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
The Planning and Zoning Division has investigated the request of Mr. F. D.
Young, 2804 West Hill Road, for deannexation of property from first read-
ing area of the City of Fort Worth and reports as follows:
LOCATION
The subject property is a tract 400 feet by 400 feet, is platted and
recorded as Andrews Oaks, an addition to Kennedale, Tarrant County,
Texas; and is located in the northeast corner of Block 54 of the Shelby
County School Land Survey. The property lies immediately west of the
present corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, and fronts on
County Road No. 2037 (Di-ck Price Road) . This area Iles about nine miles
southeasterly from the Tarrant County courthouse, and its relationship
to other municipalipalities is shown on the attached map.
ANNEXATION STATUS
This property is within the area which was annexed to the City of Fort
Worth on first reading by Ordinance No. 4236, adopted January 23, 1960.
Ordinance No. 4236 was adopted as a result 'of a study of development
in and around Everman, and embraced areas which were formerly not with-
in the first reading program.
WATER
The Water Director advises that it would not be economically feasible
for the City of Fort Worth to furnish water to the subject tract, either
by extension of existing lines or a separate system, and that Kennedale
is in a position to furnish water to the tract.
SANITARY SEWER
The nearest City of Fort Worth sanitary sewer facilities are located to
the north across U. S. Highway No. 287, approximately two (2) Miles
away, and it would not be economically feasilble to extend services to
this tract.

SUMMARY
The size and location of this tract are such that it is not feasible for
the City of Fjrt Worth to furnish any services; the City of Kennedale is
able and prepared to furnish the necessary services; and because of the
small area involved and its proximity to Kennedale, it is reasonable that
it should be deleted from Fort Worth's first reading ordinance.
RECOMMENDATION
The Planning and Zoning Division recommends that the tract as requested be
deleted from the first reading area of the City of Fort Worth. The Public
Works Department and this office concur in the recommendation.
Respectfully submitted,
