AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF THE FORT
WORTH CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER REGULATES THE
OPERATION OF AMBULANCES, BY ADDING SECTION
6-1(r) THERETO DEFINING "VICTIMS OF VIOLENT
ACTS"; BY ADDING SECTION 6-19(f) THERETO
PROHIBITING ALL PERSONS OTHER THAN ATTEND-
ANTS FROM RIDING IN THE AMBULANCE WITH VIC-
TIMS OF VIOLENT ACTS; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE
CUMULATIVE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1,
That Section 6-19 of Chapter 6 of the Fort Worth City
Code (1964) is hereby amended by adding Section 6-1(r)
thereto, and, after having been so amended, same shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec, 6-1(r) Victim of Violent Acts
"The phrase 'Victim of Violent Acts'
shall mean any ill, sick or injured person
who has been, or the ambulance attendant
has reason to believe such person has been,
shot, stabbed, poisoned, bludgeoned, beat-
en or otherwise physically assaulted. "
SECTION 2,
That Section 6-19 of Chapter 6 of the Fort Worth City
Code (1964) is hereby amended by adding Section 6-19(f)
thereto, and, after having been so amended, same shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec, 6-19(f)
"In all calls for ambulance service in
which the patient has been a victim of vio-
lent acts, or in which the ambulance attend-
ant has reason to believe that the patient
has been a victim of violent acts, no persons,

other than authorized ambulance attendants,
shall be permitted to ride in the ambulance
with the patient. "
SECTION 3•
This ordinance shall be, and is hereby declared to
be cumulative of all other ordinances and provisions of
the Code of the City of Fort Worth regulating the operation
of ambulances, and. this ordinance shall not operate to re-
peal or affect any of such other ordinances or provisions
of the Code of the City of Fort Worth regulating the opera-
tion of ambulances except insofar as the provisions thereof
may be inconsistent or directly in conflict with the pro-
visions of this ordinance, in which event such conflicting
provisions, if any, in such other ordinances or code pro-
visions are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
It is hereby declared to be the intention of the City
Council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses
and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any
phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this or-
dinance shall be declared to be unconstitutional by the
valid judgment or decree of any court of competent juris-
diction, such unconstitutionality shall not affect any of
the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and
sections of this ordinance, since the same would have been
enacted by the City Council without the incorporation in
this ordinance of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause,
sentence, paragraph or section.

SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and publication,
as required by law.
