AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY
BETWEEN LOT 1, GRANGER PLACE ADDITION, AND LOT 9,
BLOCK 7, HEMPHILL HEIGHTS SECOND FILING ADDITION,
BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH
IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the north-south alley between Lot 1, Granger Place
Addition, and Lot 9, Block 7, Hemphill Heights Second Filing
Addition, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and
permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of
any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby released
and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided
by law, save and except that an easement is reserved for an
existing utility.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

REED MA N�-YSuperior Standard Manufacturing Company, owner of all abutting property, has
requested that the City vacate the north-south alley between Lot 1, Granger
Place Addition, and Lot 9, Block 7, Hemphill Heights Second Filing, as shown
on the attached map. The alley is partially open but not paved.
If the request is granted the Applicant intends to replat the vacated right-
of-way with adjoining property to provide additional building area.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request
and have voiced no objection to this vacation, provided the Applicant plats
the vacated right-of-way with adjoining properties and provided that a
portion of the vacated right-of-way is retained as an easement for an exist-
ing utility.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed the subject request and recommends
adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested,
subject to the conditions recommended above by the City departments and
private utility companies.
The Applicant has submitted a replat which incorporates the conditions re-
quested by the City Plan Commission.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject right-
of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
