HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2393 ORDINANCE NO. o� AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Tract No. One: Ralph L. Stephens Tract, described as follows: Seven acres of land out of the G. J. Assabranner Survey in Tarrant County, Texas: Beginning at the northwest corner of said survey; Thence east along the north line of said survey 1681,2- varas; Thence south 245.68 varas; Thence west 168J varas to the west line of said survey; Thence north 245.68 varas to the place of beginning, being the same land described in deed from Robert F. Echols to Hattie Echols, dated May 7, 1924, filed for record in Vol. 828, page 324, of Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. Tract No. Two: A. M. Pate, Jr., and Sebert L. Pate Tract, described as follows: Twenty acres of land out of the west corner of the Assabranner Survey of 286 acre tract, known as the John P. Burke Tract of land, Patent No. 598, Vol. 17, Tarrant County, Texas, and more fully described as follows, to wit: Beginning at a stake in the west line of a 286 acre tract out of skid survey 748 varas east and 1078 varas south from the northwest corner of said Assabranner Survey, said corner being in the center of the intersection of a road running east and west, and one-road running north and south; Thence south along the center of said public 'road 826 varas to the center of a road running east and west; Thence east along the center of said road 848 varas, a stake 4 varas east of the projection, the fence running north and south around said land; Thence north 4 varas east of and parallel with said fence line 826 varas to the center of said road 848 varas to the place of beginning, containing in all 124.08 acres of land, of which 4.57 acres are included in roads sur- rounding said tract, leaving a net acreage under fence of 119.51 acres of land, and said land being known as the John P. Burke Tract out of said Assabrdnner Survey. Tract No. Three: Bert Jackson Tract, described as follows: 13.5 acres of land out of the George J. Assabranner Sur- vey, more fully described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north line of said survey 168-1/2 yaras east from its northwest corner; Thence east 168-1/2 varas; Thence south 458.54 varas; Thence west 168-1/2 varas, Thence north 457.95 varas to the place of beginning., SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in acdordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
