WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (City) and TranSystems
Corporation d/b/a TranSystems Corporation Consultants, (Engineer)
made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 29020, (the
Contract) which was authorized by the City Council by M&C C-19703
on the 12th day of August, 2003 and subsequently revised by one
previous amendment; and
WHEREAS, the Contract involves engineering services for the
following project:
Walsh Ranch Sewer Main Extension, Phases 1A, 1B AND 1D.
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 2 to
said Contract to include an increased scope of work and revised
maximum fee;
NOW THEREFORE, City and Engineer, acting herein by and through
their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following
agreement which amends the Contract:

Article I, of the Contract is amended to include the addition-
al engineering services specified in M&C C-22536, adopted by the
City Council on the 27th day of November, 2007, and further
amplified in a proposal letter dated June 19, 2007 copies of which
are both attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City
for the additional services to be performed by Engineer total
$36,480.00.

Article II, of the Contract is amended to provide for an
increase in the maximum fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and
services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the
total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall nQt
exceed the sum of $633,450.00. HP!r1

amended herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Authorize Execution of Amendment No. 2 to City Secretary Contract No. 29020, an Engineering
Agreement with TranSystems Corporation, d/b/a TranSystems Corporation Consultants, for Walsh
Ranch Sewer Main Extension, Phases 1A, 1 B and 1 D (City Project No. 00218)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to City
Secretary Contract No. 29020 with TranSystems Corporation, d/b/a TranSystems Corporation Consultants,
in the amount of $36,480 to provide for additional engineering services, thereby increasing the contract
amount to $633,450
DISCUSSION:
On August 12, 2003, (M&C C-19703) the City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an
engineering agreement with TranSystems Corporation, d/b/a TranSystems Corporation Consultants, in the
amount of$585,060 for Walsh Ranch Sewer Main Extension, Phases 1A, 1 B and 1 D. The agreement was
subsequently revised by one previous amendment in the amount of $11,910 that provided for additional
services on the project.
Amendment No. 2 will provide for additional surveying and engineering services as requested by the Water
Department for use in determining the applicable sewer per acre charge for future connections to the
project sewer main.
TranSystems Corporation, d/b/a TranSystems Corporation Consultants, proposes to provide the necessary
additional engineering services for a lump sum fee of $36,480. Staff considers this amount to be fair and
reasonable.
The project is located in COUNCIL DISTRICT 3.
In addition to the amendment amount $5,000 is required for project management by the Department of
Engineering.
FISCAL INFORMATION/CERTIFICATION:
The Finance Director certifies that funds are available in the current capital budgets;as_ pffi-prated, of the
Sewer Capital Project Fund.

Dear Mr. Conlon,
In accordance with our meeting with the Water Department we have prepared this contract
amendment request to provide additional services. These services will include preparation of
maps,exhibits and metes and bounds descriptions for sanitary sewer service areas for Walsh
Ranch.The below description defines the scope of work to be performed:
Scope:
1. Obtain and assemble NCTCOG aerial and topographic data covering the Walsh Ranch
drainage areas. This information is to be provided by the City of Fort Worth.
2. Delineate three(3)drainage boundaries(sewer service areas)as follows; (i) North of IH
30, (ii) South of IH 30 and (iii)Area 1 C, utilizing Archydro and the NCTCOG topographical
information.
3. Make GPS ties to specific identifiable points in the NCTCOG maps to ensure the
information is on the Walsh Ranch survey datum.
4. Prepare a metes and bounds description of the three(3)drainage areas(sewer service
areas)on 8-1/2 x 11 sheets. The descriptions will be based upon interpolation of NCTCOG
topographical data.
5. Prepare an exhibit depicting the description on an 11°x 17"sheet showing the boundary of
the drainage area, major roads and creeks, and other major identifiable land marks with
the aerial imagery as scale will allow.
6. Prepare a large scale(approximately 1"=800')exhibit showing all three drainage areas
with the above information plus additional roads and land marks as scale will allow.
Deliverables:
1. Metes and bounds descriptions of the three drainage areas on 8-1/2 x 11 sheets and
exhibit maps on 11 x 17 sheets depicting the description.
2. An electronic and hard copy exhibit depicting the three areas in a large scale format
approximately 1"=800'.
3. An electronic GIS compatible file containing the aerial imagery,drainage area boundary
lines of the 3 areas, labeling of roads and landmarks.
Exclusions
1. The descriptions and exhibits prepared will not reflect the results of an on the ground
survey, and will not to be used to convey or establish interests in real property and is only
intended as a depiction of the limits for the Walsh Ranch sewer service area based on
aerial topography provided by the City.
2. The right-of-way of IH 30, IH 20 and Spur 580 will be approximated using aerial imagery.
3. All necessary aerial imagery and topographical data will be provided by the City of Fort
Worth.
We propose to provide these services for a lump sum fee of$36,480.00. This amendment will
modify our contract as follows:
