An ordinance providing for the levy and collection
of an annual, direct, ad-valorem tax on all property, real
personal and mixed, situated within the territorial limits
of the City of Fort Worth, and all personal property owned
In said City of Fort Worth, on the let day of January, A. D.
1921, except such property as may be exempt from taxation bylaw, and
and granting certain rebates for the payment of taxes, prior
to the maturity thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS
Section 1: That there is hereby levied and shall be
collected, as provided by law, and, annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921, for the improvement of t e
streets and thoroughfares of the City of Fort Worth, of 10-t
cents on every $100. valuation on all property, real, personal
and mixed, situated in, and all personal property owned in the
said City of Fort Worth, on the 1st day of January, A. D. 1921
liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom
by the Constiitution or laws of the State of Texas, which levy
in the aggregate in the sum of 10j cents as aforesaid, shall
be and is hereby apportioned for the improvement of the streets
and thoroughfares of the City of Fort Worth 7.50 cents and for
the benefit of notes given for the construction of the Commerce
Street Storm Sewer 3.00 cents, as set out in Ordinance No. 717.
Section 2: That there is hereby levied and shall be
be collected, as provided by law, an annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921, for the benefit of notes given
for the oonstructim of Incineratore as shown b_v-Ordinance No.
747, of 2.20 cents on every $100. valuation on all proper y,
real, personal and mixed, situated in, and all personal property
owned in the said City of Fort Worth, on the 1st day of January,
A. D. 1921, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt there-
from by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.
Section 3: Upon the requisition of the Board of
School trustees of the independent School district of the City
of Fort Worth, and in conformity with the said board certificate
to that effect, that there is also hereby levied and there shall be
collected as provided by law, annual, direct, special ad-valorem
tax for the year 1921, for public school purposes, of 71 cents on
every $100. valuation on all property, real, personal and mixed,
situated in, and all personal property owned in the City of Fort
Worth on the let day of January A. D. 1921, liable under the law
to taxation and not exempt therefrom 'by the constitution and the
laws of the State of Texas, which levy in the aggregate sum of 71
cents as aforesaid, shall be and is hereby apportioned for school
maintenance 63.20 cents and for the use and benefit of the-"everal
series of City of Fort Worth school bonds, 7.50 cents distributed
as follows, respectively:

Section 4: Upon the requisition of the School
trustees of the Independent school district of the City of
Fort Worth and in conformity with the said board certificate
to that effect, there is also hereby levied and, there shall
be collected, as provided by law an annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921 for the purpose of establish-
ing and maintaining of an official system of medical inspection
and health inspection, in the public schools of 2 cents on every
$100.00 valuation on all property, real, personal and mixed,
situated in, and all personal property owned in the City of
Fort Worth on the let day of January, A. D. 1921, liable under the
law to taxation, and not exempt therefrom by the constitution of
laws of the State of Texas.
Sectiom 5: That there is also hereby levied and there
shall be collected, as provided by law, an annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921, for the support and maintenance
of a free public library in the Oity of Fort Worth of 2 cents on
every $100.00 valuation on all property, real, personal and mixed,
situated in, and all personal property owned in the City of Fort
Worth, on the let day of Januaty, A. D. 1921, liable under the
law to taxation and not-exempt therefrom by the constitution or
laws of the State of Texas.
Section 6: That there is also hereby levied and there
shall be collected, as provided by law, an annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921, for the use and benefit of the
park fund of the City of Fort Worth, of 10 cents on every $100.00
valuation on all property, real, personal, and mixed, situated in,
and all property owned in the City of Fort Worth, on the let day of
January, A. D. 1921, liable under the law to taxation, and not exempt
therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas, which
levy in the aggregare in the sum of 10 cents as aforesaid, shall be
and is hereby apportioned for park maintenance 9.70 cents, and for
the benefit of the several notes given by the park board .30 cents
distributed as follows, respectively:

Section 7: That there is also hereby levied and shall
be collected, as provided by law an annual, direct, special ad-
valorem tax for the year 1921, for the interest and sinking fund
upon the existing bonded indebtedness of the said City of Fort
Borth of 50.60 cents on every $100.00 valuation on all property,
real, personal, and mixed, situated in, and all personal property
owned in the City of Fort Worth, on the let day of January, A. D.
1921, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by
the constitution or laws of the State of Texas, which levy in the
aggregate sum of 50.60 cents as aforesaid, shall be and is hereby
apportioned for the use and benefit of the several series of the
City of Fort Worth as follows, respectively:

Section S: That there is also hereby. levied, and there
shall be collected as provided by law, an annual, direct, special
ad-valorem tax for the year 1921, for the institution and maintenance
of what is known as the"double platoon system" in the fire depart-
ment of the City of Fort Worth of 5 cents on every $100.00 valuation
on all property, real, personal, and mixed, situated in, and all
personal property owned in the City of Fort Worth on the let day of
January, . D. 1921, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt
thereffrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.
Section 9: Thatthere is also hereby levied and there shall
be collected, as provided by law, an annual, direct, special ad-
valorem tax for the year 1,921, for the purpose of paying two certain
promissory notes aggregating �50,000.00 together with accrued inter-
est in favor of Eyer & Company of New York City, as provided in Ord-
inance No. 750,- of the City of Fort Worth, of 4.20 cents on every
$100.00 valuation on property, real, personal and mixed, situated in,
and all personal property owned in the City of Fort Worth on the lot
day of January, A. D. 1921, liable under the law to taxation and not
exempt therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.
Section 10: That there is also hereby levied, and there shall
be collected as provided by law, an. annukl, direct, special advalorem
tax for the year 1921, for the purpose of paying annual installment
of notes given the American La France Fire Engine Company, for motor
apparatus for the fire department, as provided by Ordinance No. 640,
for the City of Fort Worth, of li cents on every $100.00 valuation on
all property, real, personal and mixed, situated in, and all personal
property owned in said City of Fort Worth on the 1st day of January
A. D. 1921, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom
by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.
Section 11: That there is also hereby levied, and there shall
be collected, as provided bq law, an annual, direct, special ad-
valorem tax for the year 1921t for all such other purposes, (besides
those hereinbefore enumerated! as are authorized by law and by the
charter of said City of Fort Worth, of 55 cents on every $100.00 valu-
ation on all property, real, personal and mixed, situated in, and all
personal propperty owned in said City of Fort Worth on the lst day of
January, A. D1 1921, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt
therefrom by the constitution or laws of the State of Texas.

Section 12: That these special tax levies which are herein-
before made to provide for the payment of interest and to create a
sinking fund or to discharge and pay principal and interest on any
obligation due or ow;i.ng by the said city of Fort North, are not
to be taken as in addition to levies for the same purposes made in
the respective ordinances authorizing and creating such obligations,
but the levies hereinbefore made are made pursuant to and for the
purpose of carrying out anc complying with the provisions of said
prior ordinances, and all ad-valorem taxes herein are levied upon
all taxable property, real, personal, and mixed, situated in, and
all personal property owned in the City of Fort Worth, as assessed,
valued and described in the assessment tax roll and tax books of
said pity bf Fort Worth for the year 1921 as the same have been pre-
sented to the Board of Commissioners of the said City of Fort Worth by
the Assessor and Collector of taxes ofsaid 81ty.
Section 13: That the taxes herein levied and authorized
and required to be collected shall be and become due and payable
on September let, 1921, but the same shall not be construed to be
delinquent so as to incur penalty thereon until February let, 1922,
on which date and thereafter in default in payment, said penalty,
as hereinafter set out, shall accrue and be attached thereto, and
become a part of the total amount to be paid by defaulting and de-
linquent tax payers.
Section 14: That the 31st day of January, A. D. 1922 is
hereby fixed as the final day upon which day taxes shall be paid
City of Fort Worth without the imposition of penalties, but it is
further provided that each and every person, firm, association or
corporation paying or discharging in full his, their, or its City
taxes as hereby fixed and levied, on or before the 15th day of
September, A. D. 1921 shall be allowed a rebate or discount of 3
per Oent of the full amount thereof, and that each and every person,
firm;, association or corporation paying or discharging in full,
his, their, or its city taxes as hereby fixed and levied, from the
16th day of September, A. D. 1921 and on or before the 30th day of
September, A. D. 1921, shall be allowed a rebate or discount of 2
per cent of the full amount thereof.
Section 15: That on or after February let, 1922, all
such taxes as hereinbefore levied, as remain unpaid, as required
herein to be paid on or before January 31st, 1922, shall be deemed
delinquent and there shall be added thereto a penalty of one per
cent per month or part of month, upon the full amount of such un-
paid taxes for the time the same shall remain unpaid. Said penalty of
one per cent per month shall be added to said taxes upon the let day
of February 1922, and upon the let day of each and every month there-
after until taxes shall have been paid, which penalty shall be and
become a part of said taxes and be payable as such, and provided
further that in the event of publication of delinquent tax lists, or
if suit is brought to recover such taxes and penalty, the delinquent
tax payer shall be subject to the payment of said taxes, penalties
and costs, and the same shall be and become a lien upon the property
of such tax payer as prescribed by law.
Section 16: That this ordinance shall take effect and be en-
forced from and after its passage as provided by law.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing ordinance was
duly presented and unanimously passed and adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth at a regualr session of said
Board held A. D. 1921.
