HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3194 ORDINANCE NO. ` AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CER- TAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PRO- VIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIB- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Beginning at a point in the west line of Beach Street at the most northerly northeast corner of the City of Fort Worth city limit line, said point being also in the west city limit line of Haltom City; Thence in a northerly, easterly and southerly direction along the present city limit line of Haltom City as follows: Thence northerly along the west line of Beach Street to the north line of Broadway Street; Thence easterly along the north line of Broadway to the west line of Larry Street; Thence in a northerly direction along the west line of Larry Street to a point 135 feet north of the north line of Joy Street; Thence easterly along a line parallel to the north line of Toy Street to the east line of Earls Lane; Thence in a southerly direction along the east line of Earls Lane to the north line of Broadway; Thence easterly along the north line of Broadway to the west line of Haltom Road; Thence northerly along the west line of Haltom Road to the north line of Webster Street; Thence easterly along the north line of Webster Street to the east line of Parker Road and continuing easterly 1527 feet to a point in the north line of Webster Street; Thence northerly 137 feet to a point; Thence easterly 406 feet to the west line of State Highway No. 10; Thence southerly 137 feet to a point; Thence easterly across said Highway No. 10 to and along a line 40 feet north of and parallel with the north lines of Blocks 19, 22 and 23 of Meadow Oaks Addition, in all to a point 40 feet north of the northeast corner of said Block 23; Thence in a southerly direction to the north line of Edwards Street; Thence easterly along the north line of Edwards Street and parallel to the north line of Blocks 3, 2 and 1 of the Birdville Addition to the northeast corner of the J. F. Reeves Tract 6; Thence southerly along the east lines of various tracts, in- cluding the Reeves Tract, the School Tract and the 0. B. Guynn Tract, and the west lines of Bowen Motor Coaches Tract, J. S. Ismay and A. B. Smeaton Tracts, and a Cemetery to the southeast corner of said 0. B. Guynn Tract; Thence westerly along the south line of said 0. B. Gwynn Tract to the east line of Moneda Street; Thence in a southerly direction along the east line of said Moneda Street to its point of intersection with the north line of Midway Street; Thence easterly with the north line of Midway Street to the east line of Solana Street; Thence southerly along the east line of Solana Street to the south line of the G. B. Stanley Survey, also being the north line of H. P. Tuggle Survey and the southeast corner of a tract in the name of E. L. Baker; Thence westerly along the south line of the G. B. Stanley Survey and the north line of the H. P. Tuggle Survey, passing the southwest corner of the G. B. Stanley Survey, and continuing in a westerly direction to the east line of Carson Street; Thence southerly along the east line of Carson Street to its point of intersection with the south line of the lower Birdville Road; Thence in a westerly direction along the southerly line of the lower Birdville Road to its point of intersection with the east line of Eden Street; Thence southerly along the east line of Eden Street to its point of intersection with the south line of Catalpa Street; Thence westerly along the south line of Catalpa Street to the east line of Haltom Road; Thence southerly along the east line of Haltom Road to a point of intersection with the north line of Wheeler Street, said point being also in the present City of Fort Worth city limit line; Thence south along the present City of Fort Worth city limit line and along the west line of Haltom Road a distance of 100 feet to a point; Thence east a distance of 100 feet to a point; Thence in a northerly, easterly, westerly and southerly direc- tion along a line parallel to and 100 feet from the above de- scribed Haltom City city limit line in reverse direction to a point in the present City of Fort Worth city limit line which extends west from the most northerly northeast corner of the present city limit of the City of Fort Worth; Thence east along the present City of Fort Worth city limit line a distance of 100 feet to the place of beginning. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published one time in The Fort Worth Press, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
