HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 95 T g'. ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance providing for the annexation of that certain territory in Tarrant County, 'texas, adjoining and contiguous to the City of. Fort Worth, and more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit:- Beginning at the N. West Corner of the A. T. Card Survey, at a point in the present boundary line of the City of Fort Worth; thence East with said boundary line 1800 feet to the S. W. Corner of Thos.Hicks Survey across Loving Ave; thence North with the East line of said Loving Ave. 1180 feet parallel with 31st Street as per original map or plat of the former City of North Fort Worth, Texas; thence West 1830 feet to the center of Hannah Ave. , also known as Midway Ave. ; thence South 1180 feet to a point 30 feet West of N. W. Corner of the A. T. Card Survey, which is the S. W. Corner of the A. Voght Survey; thence East 30 feet to N. W. Corner of A. T. Card Survey and the place of beginning; And extending the corporate limits of the said Oity of Fort Worth so as to embrace and include said territory and male the same an integral part of the said City of Fort Worth and granting unto the inhabitants of said territory the lawful privileges and imposing upon them the lawful responsibilities of citizens of the City of Fort Worth. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0MMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:- Section 1: That it being made to appear to the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth that all of the inhabitants qualified to vote for members of the Legislature, residing in and having their domicile in that certain territory in Tarrant County, Texas, adjoining and contiguous to the City of Fort Worth, as its limits are now prescribed in its present Charter, which said terri- tory is described .as follows:- Beginning at the N. West Corner of the A. T. Card Survey, at a point in the present boundary line of the City of Eort Forth; thence East with said boundary line 1800 feet to the S. W. Corner of Thos. Hicks @Purvey across Loving Ave.; -1- f thence North with the East line of said Loving Ave. 1180 feet parallel with 31st Street as per original map or plat of the former 8ity of North Fort Worth, Texas; thence West 1830 feet to the center of Hannah Ave. , also known as Midway Ave. ; thence South 1180 feet to a point 30 feet West of N. W. Corner of the A. T. Card Survey, which is the S. W. Corner of the A. Voght Survey; thence East 30 feet to N. W. Corner of A. T. Card Survey and the place of beginning; have signified their desire by petition in writing, describing said aforesaid territory by metes and bounds, to which their names are signed, subscribed and appended, to have said territory annexed to and become part and parcel of the City of Fort Worth, and it further appearing that said petitioners own and hold the real property des- cribed in said territory so seeking admission, save and except the streets, alleys and thoroughfares which have heretofore been dedi- cated to the public, and that said petition, in due form of law as required by the City Charter of the City of Fort Worth, has been filed with the City Sectetary and presented to the Board of Commissioners of the Qity of Fort Worth, and the same h,avinv been duly considered, it is therefore further ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: Section 2: That the above and foregoing territory as hereinbefore described be and the awns is hereby annexed to and made a part of the municipal corporation of the City of Fort Worth and the corporate limits of the said City of Fort Worth as they now exist be and the same are hereby accordingly extended so as to embrace and include said territory as an integral part of the said City of Fort Worth, and the inhabitants of said terri- tory residing and having their domicile therein shall hereafter be entitled to and enjoy all the lawful rights and privileges of the citizens of the 0ity of Fort Worth and be bound by and re- quired to observe all the lawful acts, ordinances, rules and regulations governing other citizens of said city and they shall be required to bear and discharge the same responsibilities thereof. -2- x Section 3: This oedinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication as required by law. 0.
