HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1795 ORDINANCE NO. 1795 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE QUALITY AND PRESSURE OF NATURAL GAS DELIVERED TO CONSUMERS IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH BY ALL PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS ENGAGED IN M BUSINESS OF DISTRIBUTING SUCH PRODUCTS, DECLARING THIS ORDINANCE TO BE Cbhi"TIVE OF All OTHER ORDINANCES REGULATING THE QUALITY AND PRESSURE OF GAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. � BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTS, TEXAS: SECTION I. That all persons, firms or corporations engaged in'the business of furnishing or distributing natural gas to the inhabitants of the City of Fort Worth shall furnish natural fuel gas to the consumers; that the term "natural gas", as used herein, is intended to mean natural gas of the quality and character produced by nature in the petroleum, oil and natural gas fields of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana or elsewhere and which, excepting only that helium and sulphur content and/or natural gas gasoline, oil or gasoline vapors may be extracted therefrom, upon the condition, however, that said gas shall be delivered to the consumer without the mixture of air or the elements of air from which the oxygen content has been extracted. SECTION II. That no natural gas shall be delivered and sold to any consumer which shall contain less than one thousand (1000) British Thermal Units per cubic foot of the natural gas, as determined at a temperature of sixty (60) degrees Fahrenheit and a pressure equivalent to thirty (30) inches of mercury at thirty-two (32) degrees Fahrenheit, and water vapor saturated. The -S'i'M sh Thermal Unit content of the-7latural gas shall be determined and cal- culated from the gas discharged from the service main. SECTION III. That natural gas deliverable shall be measured on a basis of one thousand (1000) cubic feet at a base .temperature of sixty (60) degrees Fahrenheit and at a base pressure of not less than four (4) ounces gauge pressure above fourteen and forty-three one-hundredths (14.43) pounds per square inch7atmospherio pressure at the outlet side of the consumers' meter- ing device, but UOU11 g herein shall in any manner abrogate any contractual agreements relating to pressure applicable to industrial consumers. SECTION IV. This ordinance is hereby declared to be cumulative of all other ordinances in the City of Fort Worth regulating the pressure or quality of natural gas, and it is not intended to repeal any other such or-dinanaesx except in those instances where its provisions are in direct conflict with the provisions of said ordinances. SECTION V. Any person, firm or corporation, their agents, servants or employees, violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars 3200.00), and each day's violation thereof shall constitute a separate offense; and the furnishing of gas to any consumer in violation hereof shall likewise constitute a separate offense. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the 14th day of August, A. D. 1934, thirty (30) days after the date of its passage and publication, as required by law.
