HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 496 I Y Ordinance No. _ An Ordinance regulating the planting of trees along the sidewalkp,streets, alleys and thoroughfares within the limits of the City of Fort Worth, providing that the same shall be under the supervision of the Board of Commissioners for said City; requiring any person, fift or corporation owning or con- trolling premises abutting on any street, alley, sidewalk or thoroughfare within the limits of said City to keep the limbs and branches of any shade or other trees on such premises so trimmed and trained that the same will not obstzuct or interfere with the passage of vehicles -pedestrians using such sidewalk, alleyp, street$ e*l,,thoroughffare4; fixing a penalty for the vio- r &ation of any of the provisions of this ordinance, and repealing all ordinances in conflict ,herewith, and espectatiy--S eut#cn Two, Article 7, Chapter Five, Title 7 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Fort Worth for the uvs.r 1915. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOAPI) OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: Section 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to plant or cause to be planted upon and along any street, alley or thoroughfare within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Worth, any shade ter, ornamental a-L tree or trees, except upon lines and grades to be designated, fixed and established under the authority of he Board of Com- missioners for tha said City of Fort Worth; and.-it is hereby made the duty of theCity Engineer for said City upon request to furnish promptly such lines and grades without charge for ? � such service. Section 2. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation owning, occupying or controlling property abutting on any street, alley, sidewalk or thoroughfare within corporate the/limits of the City of Fort Worth to grow or permit to be r grown, or permit to remain upon or along any such street, alley, sidewalk or thoroughfare, any shade, ornamental or other tree V, reasonably calculated to interfere with and obstruct the free passage of any person or vehicle thereon; and any person, firm or corporation occupying, owning or controlling premises abutting on any sidewalk, street, alley or thoroughfare within the corporate limits of said City shall keep any and all shade, ornamental or other trees of aiRrA description whatsoever on their said premises, so trimmed and trained that the limbs and branches thereof shall not reasonably interfere with or obstruct the passage of pedestrians o� arrd�vehicles thereon. Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of thia Ordinance,or failing or refusing to do or to cause to be done the thingw herein provide for, shall be t�. g�uil1y of a misdemeanor, a d---j n -conyi-etioa sMA3' „1rn{chcR � a fine not exceeding $100.00.
