"r AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 2494, VE ICH IS AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF ALL FIREMEN AND POLICEMEN OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, BY CHANGING SAID SECTION AS SHOWN BELOW; PROVIDING FOR DIFFERENT CLASSIFICATIONS FOR EACH DEPARTMENT, PRESCRIB- ING THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION I. That Section I of Ordinance No. 2494 be amended so that said Section shall read as follows: SECTION I. - That in compliance with the mandatory provisions of House Bill 34, passed and adopted at the regular session of the Fiftieth Legislature, and described as Article 1269m of Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes, the members of the Fire Department and the members of the Police Department of the City of Fort Worth shall be classified as follows, and the maximum number of positions of each classification shall be as indicated in each class.- Fire Department Chief of the Fire Department - - - - - - - - 1 Assistant Chief of the Fire Department - - - - - 1 District Chief - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 8 Captain - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2% Lieutenant - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -34 Executive Officer- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1 Chief Fire alarm Operator - - - - - - - - - - - 1 Assistant Chief Fire Alarm Operator - - - - - - 6 Fire Marshall - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - �. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all the provisions of Ordinance No. 2494 and any other ordinance of the City of Fort Worth relating to the classification of Firemen and policemen, ex- cept in those instances where the provisions of this ordinance are in direct conflict with such ordinances in which instance said con- flicting ordinances are expressly repealed. SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after the date of its passage as provided by lair.
