HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004/09/14-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 14, 2004 Date & Time On the 14th day of September, A.D., 2004, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 4:02 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Mike Moncrief; Mayor Pro tempore Ralph McCloud; Council Members Jim Lane, Chuck Silcox, Becky Haskin, Donavan Wheatfall, Clyde Picht, John Stevenson and Wendy Davis; Interim City Manager Charles Boswell; City Attorney David Yett and City Secretary Marty Hendrix. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council meet in closed session at 4:10 p.m. to: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules, and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a) John Gottlob, Andrew Smith, Kent Mouton, David Wise, Jr., Donnie Morton, Kevin Keisler, Tom McNutt, John McCauley, Jeffrey A. Lucio, T.A. Kasterke, David Copeland, Diane Sims, Dennis Alise, Tony Dyess, Richard Dotson and Dallas Seals v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 153-200793-03; b) George Montgomery, IV v. City of Fort Worth No. 4:04-CV-628-Y; c) Stephanie Dukes, et al. v. Philip Johnson/ Alan Richie Architechs, et al. Cause No. 141- 20753804; d) City of Fort Worth v. Apartments at Villa Del Rio, L.P., Cause No. 04-25881-1; e) Legal issues concerning Texas Bay Cherry Hill, L.P., 6000 Oakland Hills Drive; f) Legal issues concerning Oak Hollow FW, L.P. and Oak Hollow apartments; g) Legal issues concerning regulations of sexually oriented businesses; CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS SEPTEMBER 14, 2004 PAGE 2of2 h) Legal issues concerning Waste Management of Texas, Inc., property at 3700 block of Linkcrest; i) Legal issues concerning collection of solid waste; j) Legal issues concerning gas drilling management contract with Bank One; k) Legal issues concerning any item listed on today's City Council meeting agenda; and 2. Deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.087 of the Texas Government Code; and 4. Deliberate the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices, in accordance with Section 551.076 of the Texas Government Code.
