AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT BOWIE STREET FROM THE EAST LINE OF
THE NORTH-SOUTH FREEWAY TO THE WEST LINE OF EVANS AVENUE AND
THE UTILITY EASEMENT WITHIN DOBBINS ADDITION FROM THE WEST
LINE OF LOT 4 TO THE WEST LINE OF EVANS AVENUE BE VACATED,
ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE
IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Bowie Street from the east line of the North-South Freeway to
the west line of Evans Avenue be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned
and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any, kind or
character whatever; and that the utility easement within Dobbins Addition,
approved by the Plan Commission on April 22, 1953, and recorded in the
County Deed Records in Vol. 388-0, page 179, from the west line of Lot 4
to the west line of Evans Avenue be and the same is hereby extinguished,
vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an easement for public utilities.
SECTION 2.
That the fee to the land in said Bowie Street is hereby released
and will revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law, save and except
that easements are retained for all existing utilities; and that the fee
to the land in said easement above described is hereby released and will
revert to the owners as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.
