NUMBER Proposed Closing of a Portion of Old
y i39 1963 PZ-64 Randol Mill Road, East of Loop 217
The owners of property on both sides of a portion of Randol Mill Road, east of
Loop 2179 have requested the closing of that part of the road shown,. on the
attached map, which has been abandoned following construction of a new grade
separation for Randol Mill Road across Loop 217. The owners state that the
abandoned portion of the road is now being used as a refuse dump and there-
fore wish to close the road and construct a permanent fence to prevent
further damping in the former roadway.
All private utility companies and city departments have been contacted and do
not object to the proposed closing, provided easements are retained for any
and all existing utilities.
The Public Works Department, Traffic Engineering Department, and Planning
Department agree that this section of Randol Mill Road serves no purpose,
that it will not be required for future use, and should be closed.
The City Plan Commission at its meeting on February 13, 1963s reviewed the
request and recommended that this section of road be closed. It is therefore
recommended that an ordinance be adopted. closing this section of Randol Mill
Road as requested.
