362 RELATING TO THE LICENSING OF CARRIAGES, HACKS,
+ AUTOMOBILES AND OTHER VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY OF -
` FORT WORTH, PASSED ON THE llth DAY OF FEBRUARY,1913.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMP:ISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH:
- Section 1: That Section 1 of Ordinance :'o. 65 passed
by the Bo..rd of City Comx,issicne-s of the City of Fort '-orth on
the 9th day of June, A. D. 1908, as amended by Ordinance No. 362
;gassed by t'. e Board of City Commissioners of the City of Fort
orth on the llth day of February A. D. 1913, and as amended,by
Ordinance No. 449 passed by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Fort '-'ortn on the 15th day of February A. D. 1915, be,
and the same is hereby amended so that same shall hereafter reaq--'
as follows, viz: '
"Section 1. That hereafter, all persons operating carriages,,
uks, 6rnri':-„ases, ^i.tomo?ci'.es or other vehicles within the Uity of
Fort "orth, for the purpose of carrying passengers for hire shall

first obtain a permit from the Board of City Commissioners so to
do, and shall Make application to the Board of City Commissioners
in writing therefor, stating in such application the name, street
address, age of the operator, period of experience of such oper-
ator in the operation of public Vehicles, the character of
business engaged in by such applicant, whether such person is
addicted to the use of intoxicating liquors or the use of
morphine, cocaine, or opium or any other drug calculated to
affect the physical strength or mind of the operator, and
shall also state whether such applicant is deaf or partially
deaf, Qr is nearsighted, or Is laboring under anx w::iler

physical infirmity or afflicted with any disease of any kind,
and that said application shall also state whether the said
applicant has ever been convicted of any violation of the
traffic ordinance of the City of Fort i'orth, and shall also
state the place of residence of the 'applicant for a period of
at least five years prior to the date of making such application,
and the character of business engaged in by such applicant.
That if the Board of City Commissioners are
satisfied with the application, they shall order the Assessor
and Collector of taxes to issue a permit to the person applying
therefor, anal such person zhal.- be en-titled to said ;,ermit or
license for the period of twelve months upon paying to the
Assessor and Collector of taxes the amount of ` zatty�fivei (w35.00)
dollars for each carriage, hack, omnibus, automobile, or other
vehicle used b him; provided, however, that said Board. of
City Commissioners shall in no event, be compelled to order the
issuance of any license within less than ten days after the
presentation of the application therefor -to said Board;
PROVIDED, it shall not be lawful to operate, under the license
hereinabove provided for, any motor bus, as the sane is defined
in Ordinance No. 448, passed by the Board of City Commissioners
of the C'ty of --c.-t '"brf'- cr the 15th day of February A.D.1915. "
Provided further, that said Board of Commissioners
sh311 have the right at any time to cancel such permit or
license without notice, upon satisfactory proof that any of
the statements made in the application are untrue, or if the
person to whom the permit or license is issued shall be convicted
of violating any of the traffic ordinances of the City of Fort
Forth, or shall be found in a state of intoxication, or that he
he shall be guilty of any other acts or conduct while on duty
that endangers the lives of passengers, or the traveling public.
Section 2. Any person or persons,, corporation,
partnership or association or persons violating any of the pro-
visions of this ordinance sbAll use guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than
five dollars nor more than ten dollars.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage and publication, as
required by law. r
