HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1097 Whereupon Councilman seconded by Councilman moved the adoption of the following orftnance ORDINANCE NO. /° 17 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CANCELLA- TION OF CERTAIN BONDS BY THE COMPTROLLER OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTS FOR THE STATE OF TEXAS AND FOR THE CANCELLATION AND DISCHARGE OF ALL BONDS IN SERIES 44, THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REGISTERED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COMPTROLLER OF PUBLIC ACCOUNTS FOR THE ST TE OF TEXAS, TOGETHER 17ITH THE ATTACHED COUPONSIBY THE SECRETARY-TREASURER OF" THE CITY OF FORT WORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CILY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION: I. That the Comptroller of Public Accounts for the State of Texas is hereby authorized and empowered to cancel negotiable coupon bonds No. 292-331, in- clusive, of the City of Fort Worth, dated February 1st, 1924, series 44, now in the possession of said Comp- troller and after being so cancelled, said Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed- to send either by express or messenger said cancelled instruments to the I. L. Van Zandt, Jr, Secretary-Treasurer of the City of Fort Worth, Texas. SECTION II That the said Secretary-Treasurer of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to cancel, extinguish and discharge all bonds of the series 44, dated February 1st, 1924, together with all 6 a..t,achad cQupons, that have not been registered in the office of therComptroller of the State of Texas at Austin, which instruments are now in his possession or which may hereafter come into his possession, in order that same shall not constitute outstanding ob- ligations of said City, as no necessity now exists for the issuance and registration of such securities. SECTION III. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage Approved as to Form. CTty Attorney. And the motion to adopt said Ordinance having been presented to the City Council, and the same having been duly read and considered, it was unanimously passed and adopted, all of the Council- men, including the Mayor, voting "aye" thereon, and none voting "no".
