'ABANDONME17 OF A PORTION OF A CERTAIN PUB-
1ICC THOROUGHFARE -ITHIN THE CITY OF FORT
ORTH, TEXAS, BEING A SIXTY FOOT ROADWAY
NO. 964 ADJACENT TO THE E. S. HARRIS SURVEY,
AID T HE ':'. J. ROGERS AND SI SK TRACTS AND -
ESTABLISHING AN ALLEY TEN FEET IN FtIDTH
THROUGH THE CENTER OF SAID ROADWAY.
THEREAS, it appearing to the Board of Com-
missioners of the City of Fort '•'orth, Texas, that at
a regular meeting of the Commissioner' s Court of
Tarrant County, Texas, held at the court house in
the City of Fort Forth On the 17th day of August,
A. D. 1902, the said court by an order duly entered
v on the minutes of said meeting established a first
class road 'sixty feet wide, No. 964, along the south
line of the E. S. Harris survey, 30 feet on each
side of the line, which extended from the north-
east corner of the ". J. Rogers tract, west (passing
his northwest corner) taking 30 feet off the :-. J.
Rogers and 30 feet off the Sisk tract (now Chelten-
ham) ; and
WHEPEAS, by a certain amendment to the
charter of the City of Fort "'orth, Texas, duly rass*,L
and adopted by the people of the said city, the
above described roadway on the 24th day of July,
A. D. 1922 came within the corporate limits of
said city and under the absolute control of its
Board of Commissioners; and

WHEREAS, it appearing to said Board of Com-
missioners that all persons owning property adjacent
to said roadway and in additions adjacent and contiguous

fare closed, vacated and permanently abandoned provided

THEREAS, it further appearing to the said
Board of Commissioners that it is advantageous to the
people of Fort Worth and to the best interests of the
public generall1, and necessary to the proper con-
tinuity and orderly arrangement of streets and alleys
in that section of the city that said roadway be
closed, vacated and -.ermanently abandoned with the

SECTION I
That that certain public thoroughfare within
the corporate limits of the City of Fort '. orth and
being a first class roadway sixty feet in width, es-

Texas, and known as No. 964, extending along the south
line of the E. S. Harris survey, 30 feet on each side
of the line, from the northeast corner of the " . J.
Rogers tract, west, (passing his northwest corner)
taking 30_ feet off of J. Rogers and 30 feet off
the Sisk Tract, (now Cheltenham) be and the same is
hereby closed, vace.ted and permanently abandoned as
a street, roadway or public thoroughfare, except a
ten feet is X11th 1-z oeaiter �of
Way and extending the entire length of same, which said
strip is hereby retained as an alley taking five feet
off of the above named tracts instead of }hirty feet
as heretofore.
SECTION II
That this ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage.
