ORDINANCE NO. 1098.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO
THE RESIDENT QUALIFIED TAX PAYING VOTERS IN
THE'CITY OF FORT WORTH, TECAS, PROPOSITIOT?S
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF' NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS
OF SAID CITY IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF SEVEN,
_.-MILLION SIX -TUNDRtD AND FIFTY'NINE (07,659,-
000.004) DOLLARS FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING
AND EXTENDING THE PLATER AND SANITARY SEIJER
SYSTEM; FOR CONSTRUCTION, IMPROVING, AND EX-
TENDING STREETS, THOROUGHFARES, AND STORM S1E11-
ERS; FOR BUILDING AN ADDITIONAL INCINERATOR
AND PURCHASING THE SITE THEREFOR; FOR PURCHAS-
ING AND ACQUIRING ADDITIONAL LANDS AND PROPER-
TY FOR PARKS; FOR PURCHASING AND IMPROVING AD-
DITIONAL PLAY GROUNDS, ATHLETIC FIELDS, AND
OTHER RECREATION FACILITIES; FOR CONSTRUCTING
AN ADDITION TO THE CITY-COUNTY HOSPITAL AND FOR
CONSTRUCTING AND IMPROVING A NEW MAIN ARTERIAL
THOROUGHFARE RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH AND ALSO
ONE EXTENDING EAST AND WEST THROUGH SAID CITY;
SAID BONDS TO BE IN SUCH DENOIufINATION AS MAY BE
DETERMINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL MATURING FROM
FIVE TO FORTY YEARS FROM THE DATE THEREOF, BEAR-
ING INTEREST FROM THE DATE THEREOF AT A. RATE NOT
TO EXCEED FIVE PER CENT PER ANNUM, PAYABLE SEMI-
ANNUALLY, EXPRESSED IN COUPON NOTES ATTACHED TO
THE BONDS; CALLING AN ELECTION FOR THAT PURPOSE
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, ON
TUESDAY, THE 24TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, A. D. 1925.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION ONE.
That an election be held in the City of Fort Worth, Tex-
as, on Tuesday, the 24th day of November, A. D. 1925, at the
polling places hereinafter mentioned, between the hours of eight
A. M. and seven P. M. at which election the following proposi-
tions for the issuance of bonds for the City of Fort Worth shall
be submitted to the resident qualified tax paying voters of said
City therein;
1.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, Texas, through its City Coun-
oil, issue its negotiable coupon bonds, run,�ing from five (5) to
fort;; (40) years in the principal sum of Three Million Three Hun-
dred Thousand ($y3,300,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of improv-
ing and extending the water and sanitary sewer systems of said
City, the first of said bonds being payable at the expiration of
five (5) years from the date thereof, and serially thereafter as
n� may be determined by the said City Council, so that the last ma-
turing bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from the
date thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per
cent (5%) per arnum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually,
and levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest' on said bonds and

II.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, iss-
ue it's negotiable coupon bonds, running from five (5) to forty
(40) years, in the principal sum of Two Million Two Hundred
Thousand ($2,.200,000.00) Dollars., for the purpose of construct-
ing, improving, and extending the streets, thoroughfares, and
storm sewers of said City, including in such permanent improve-
ments the widening, paving, grade separation, bridges, and
a
drainage, the first of said bonds being payable at the exp}ra�
tion of five (5) years from the date thereof, and serially

thereafter as may be determined by the said City Council, so
that the last maturing bonds shall become pa yable within forty
(40) years from the date thereof, bearing interest at a rate not
to exceed five per cent (50) per annum from the date thereof,
payable semi-annually, and levy a sufficient tax to pay the in.
terest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to re-
deem said bonds at the maturity thereof.
III.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council', is-
sue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from ,five (5) to forty
(40) years in the principal sum of Se'venty-One Thousand ($71,-
000.00) Dollars for the purpose of constructing, building and
equipping an additional incinerator plant for the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, and purchasing the necessary lands and site there-
for, the first of said bonds being payable at the expiration of
�4 five (5) years from the date thereof; and serially thereafter as
may be determined by the said City Council, so that the last ma-
turing bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from
the date thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five

per cent (50) per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-an-
nually, and levy a sufficient taX to pay the interest on said

bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds
at the maturity thereof.
IV.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, is-
sue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from five (5) to forty
(40) years, in the principal sum of Five Hundred Thousand ($500,-
000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of purchasing, acquiring, and
improving lands and property for public parks in the City of Fort
Worth, the first of said bonds being payable at the expiration
of five (5) years from the date thereof, and serially thereafter
as may be determined by the said City Council, so that the last
" maturing bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from
the date thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five f
per cent (5%) per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annu-
ally, and levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds
and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the
maturity thereof.
V.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, is-
sue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from five (5) to forty
(4�) years, in the principal sum of. 0ne Hundred and Seventy
Thousand ($170,.000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of purchasing,
acquiring, and improving play grounds, athletic fields, and oth-
er recreation facilities of a permanent nature in said City, the
first of said bonds being payable at the expiration of five (5) ,
years from the date thereof', and serially thereafter as may be
determined by the said City Council, so. that the last maturing
bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from the date
thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent
(5%) per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually, and
levy a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and creme

ate a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the matu-
rity thereof.
VI.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, is-
sue itsi(negotiable coupon bonds, running from five (5) to forty

(40) years, in the principal sum of Eighteen Thousand ($18,000.00 )
Dollars, for the purpose of constructing, building, and equipping
an addition to the City-County Hospital in the City of Fort Worth,
n Texas, the first of said bonds being payable at the expiration of
1 five (5) years from the date thereof, and serially thereafter as'
may be determined by the said City Council, so that the last ma-
turing bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from the
date thereof, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed five per
cent (5%) per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually,
and levy a sufficient tax. to pay the interest on said bonds and
create a .sinking fund sufficient to redeem said bonds at the ma-
turity thereof.
VII.
Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, is-
sue its negotiable coupon bonds, running from five (5) tb forty
years (40), in the principal sum of One Million Four Hundred Thou=
sand ($1,400,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of constructing, im-
proving, and extending its system of streets and thoroughfares by
constructing, improving, and extending a now main arterial street
S and thoroughfare running north and south and a new main arterial
' street and thoroughfare extending east and west through said
4` City, including in such permanent improvements, grade separation,
bridges, drainage, and the purchase of right of way, the first
of said bonds being payable at the expiration of five (5) year's
from the date thereof, and serially thereafter as may be deter-
mi4ed by the said City Council, so that 'the last maturing bonds '
shall become payable within forty (40) years from the date there-
of, bearing interest at a rate not t-o exceed five per cent (5�J
per annum from the date thereof, payable semi-annually, and 1a•6y
a sufficient tax to pay the interest on said bonds and create a
sinking fund sufficient to redeem srAd bonds at the maturity
thereof.
SECTION TWO.
Said election shall be held at the following places, with
the following named persons appointed presiding judges at said
election, to-wit:

SECTION TN'RE'E.
That said election shall be held under the provisions of
the charter of the City of Fort Viorth, Texas, tho constitution
and laws of said state in so far as same may be applicable and
resident qualified property tax paying voters in said City shall_
be allowed to vote on said propositions.
SECTION FQTP..
Each proposition for the issuance of said bonds shall be
separately stated, so that the voters shall pass upon each is-

All voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds for
the purpose of improving and extending the water and sanitary
sewer system of the City of Fort Lcrth, shall have written or
printed upon their ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of Water and Sanitary Sewer Bonds."
'.nd those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of Water and Sanitary Sewer Bonds."
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the Street
Improvement Bonds shall have written or printed upon their bal-
lots, the words:
"For the issuance of Street Improvement Bonds."
And those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance o' Street Improvement Bonds."
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds
to construct an additional incinerator plant in the City of
Fort Worth, shall have written or printed upon their ballots,
the words:
"For the issuance of Iiicirerater Bonds.'`
And those opposed shall-_ have writton or printed upon their
ballots, the wordy:
"..gainst the issuance of incinerator Bonds."
,%11 voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds for
the purpose of purchasing addit'-oral lands and otherwise -improving
the parks in the City of Fort Worth shall have written or printed
upon their ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of Park Bonds."
And those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
;allots the words:
"Against the issuance of Park Bonds."
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds
for the purpose of purchasing additional lands and otherwise
improving the recreational facilities in the City of Fort Worth
shall have written or printed upon their ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of Recreation Bonds."
i,nd those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of Recreation Bonds,"
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds for
the purpose of constructing an addition to the City-County Hos-
pital in the City of Fort Worth shall have written or printed
upon- their ballots, the words:
"For the issuance of City-County Hospital Bonds."
i.nd those opposed shall have written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of City-County Hospital Bonds."
All voters who favor the proposition to issue the bonds
for the purpose of constructing a new main arterial thorough-
fare running north and south and also one extending cast and
west through said City, shall have written or printed upon
their ballots, the words:
"For the issta.ance of Main Arterial Thoroughfare Bonds."
And those opposed shall have,written or printed upon their
ballots, the words:
"Against the issuance of Main Arterial Thoroughfare Bonds."
SECTION FIVE.
The way and manner of holdirxg this special election, the
notice to be givctn therefor, the polling places, the personnel
of the officers who are to he'd them same, and all dotails con-

SECTION SIX.
The Secretary-Treasurer is hereby ordered and directed to
prepare proper ballots and stamp same "Official Ballot" on which
ballots shall be printed all of the propositions as hereinbefore
set forth.
SECTION SEVEN.
That all of said bonds shall be in such denomination as may
be determined by the City Council and shall mature serially be-
ginning at the expiration of five years and mature in the reg-
ular order in which they are numbered; making the last bond ma-
ture within forty (40) years from the date thereof and said
bonds shall be sold at not less than par, and shall bear in-
terest at a rate not to exceed five per cont (5%) per annum,
payable semi-annually.
SECTION EIGHT.
That the Secretary-Treasurer shall furnish said ballots
together with any other forms or blanks that may be necessary
to hold said election, and the duly appointed judges shall hold
said election and make the'•.r returns in accordance with the
Charter of the City of Fort �,orth and the laws of the State of
Texas insofar as same are applicable.
Section Nine.
A copy of this ordinance, signed by the mayor of the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, and attested by the City Secretary-Treas-
urer, shall scrvc; as a proper notice of said election.

City Hall, and one in at least one polling place in o�-er- iarft

SECTION ELEVEN.
The Sccretary-Treasurer is further authorized and directed
to cause said notice of the election -to be published in some
daily newspaper of general circulation daily for five days be-
fare the date of said election 4nd the first publication of which
shall be not less than ten days before the date an which such
election is hold.
SECTION TWELVE.
The holding or adjudication of any section, portion, or
pr.rt hereof to be invalid shall not affect the validity of any
oCaor section, portion, or part of this ordinance but all such
other sections, portions, and parts hereof shall bo and. remain
•.-^:1 id.
SECTION THIRTEEN.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
offect from and after date of its passage, and it is so ordained.
