ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEOPAPEFt PUBLISHED IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort
Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral
part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County,
Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land about 5 miles east from the Court House of
Tarrant County, Texas, lying in and including all or part of the W. R.
Reeder, S. Elliott, J. Brockman, J. H. Conner, and H. Robinson Surveys
and being more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present city limit line of the City of
Fort Worth in the south right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road (County
Road No. 2021) said point being 50 feet west of the east line of the
V. F. White Survey produced northerly;
THENCE northerly, along a line parallel to and 50 feet most of the
east line of the W. F. White Survey produced northerly, to its intersection
with the north right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021);
THENCE in an easterly direction along the northerly right-of-way
line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021) to a point 100 feet west
of the east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey produced southerly;
THENCE northerly along a line 100 feet west of and parallel to the
east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey produced southerly and along a line
100 feet west of and parallel to the east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey
to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of Elliot Reeder
Road (County Road No. 3114);
THENCE westerly along the south right-of-war line of Elliot Reeder
Road (County Road No. 3114) to and along the present city limit line of
Haltom. City, to a point 1175 feet west of the west line of Carson Street
produced southerly;
THENCE southerly along the present city limit line of Haltom City
and continuing along said line produced southerly to its intersection
with the middle of the Trinity River;
THENCE easterly along the center line of the Trinity River, with
its meanders, to its intersection with a line parallel to and 100 feet
west of the east line of the W. F. White Survey, produced northerly;
THENCE southerly, along a line parallel t o and 100 feet west of the
east line of the W. F. White Survey produced northerly, to its intersection
with the south right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021),
the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth;
THENCE easterly along the southerly right-of-way line of Randol
Mill Road (County Road No. 2021), the present city limit line of the City
of Fort Worth to the place of beginning and containing approximately
.630 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance in
conflict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals
Ordinance No. 3561 heretofore adopted and passed on November 14, 1956, and
Ordinance No. 4424 heretofore adopted and passed on January 6, 1961, but as
to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict
herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper
published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 40, Chapter X VIII of the City Charter.
Section h.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this
ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of
competent Jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the
remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except
as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions
of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so
ordained.
