HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6999 ORDINANCE NO. 7'7 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT NORTH HOUSTON STREET NORTHWARD FROM REFINERY STREET TO TRACT "B", F. G. MULLIKEN SURVEY, IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That North Houston Street northward from Refinery Street to Tract "B", F. G. Mulliken Survey, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all exist- ing drainage and utility facilities. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Houston PAGE QRAHAN NT[RRE NUMBER (V-72-31) 5/6/74 PZ-613 3 of REeD WILKE% Texas Refinery Corporation, owner of all abutting property, has requested that the City vacate N. Houston Street in the 900 block a width of 60' and HUMAN a length of 340' northward from Refinery Street to Tract B, F. G. Milliken 22 Survey, as shown on the attached map. T� Subject right-of-way was acquired by dedication. North Houston Street is occupied by buildings. There are existing drainage, water, sanitary sewer, gas and electric facilities located within the subject right-of-way. The reviewing City departments and private utility companies have no objections, provided the Applicant replats and retains easements for all existing drain- age and utility facilities or makes other satisfactory arrangements. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that an Ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as requested. A satis- factory replat has been submitted to the City staff. Recommendation It is recommended that an Ordinance be adopted vacating subject right-of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
