HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6972 ORDINANCE NO. /a_ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT A PORTION OF SOUTH NORMANDALE STREET ADJACENT TO LOT 3, BLOCK 88, WESTERN HILLS ADDITION, SECTION VII, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described portion of South Norman- dale Street adjacent to Lot 3, Block 88, Western Hills Addi- tion, Section VII, an addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tar- rant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, aban- doned and permanently vacated as a street or public thorough- fare of any kind or character whatever, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities: Beginning at an iron pin at the northeast corner of Lot 3, Block 88, Western Hills Addi- tion, Section VII, said point being in the ex- isting south right-of-way line of South Norman- dale Street at its intersection with the west right-of-way line of Portales Drive; Thence North 841 24' West 130.7 feet along the existing south right-of-way line of said South Normandale Street to an iron pin in same for the most westerly corner of the herein de- scribed tract; Thence South 88° 41' East 128.98 feet along the proposed south right-of-way line of South Normandale Street to its intersection with the extended west right-of-way line of Portales Drive; Thence South 60 35' East 9.86 feet with the extended west right-of-way line of Portales Drive to the point of beginning, and containing 630 square feet or 0.014 acres. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. Normandale Street 1 of 1 HUMAN EN ARDI Walt Henderson with approval of all ajacent property owners, has requested that the City vacate a portion of South Normandale Street along the south side in the 8800 block adjacent to Lot 3, Block 88, Western Hills Addition, Section VII, a width of 20 feet beginning at the east line of Lot 3 and continuing westward a distance of 130.72 feet diminishing to a zero point at the west end, as shown on attached map. The subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is part of the existing extra- wide parkway along the south side of South Normandale Street and contains tele- phone facilities, but no other utilities. Public Works Department has stated that the replat should leave not less than 64 feet for right-of-way with 10 feet for the parkway along the south side of Norman- dale and should include a revised corner sight easement. The reviewing City departments and private utility companies have no objections to this request provided the Applicant replats and furnishes all necessary ease- ments. A satisfactory replat has been received by the City staff. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights-of-way as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject rights-of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
