Humble Oil & Refining Co. has requested that the City vacate a portion of
Donnelly Avenue in the 6000 block which -lies immediately north .of and adja-
.cent .to Lot A, Block 56 .of Chamberlin Arlington Addition, as shown on the
attached map. Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is paved.
The present alignment of Donnelly Avenue at this point constitutes a hazar-
dous intersection that will become more .hazardous in the future as traffic
volume increases on Guilford .Road. The reviewing City departments feel
that a right turn lane from Camp Bowie Boulevard onto .Guilford .Ro.ad .is
.needed and, .if .this request is granted, there will be sufficient right-of-
way remaining for that purpose. The Applicant has dedicated additional
right-of.-way along- the east line of Lot A .adjacent to Guilford Road and
has also agreed to pay the full cost .of .curb .adjustments necessary for
construction of the aforementioned right turn .lane.
City departments and .private .utility companies have reviewed this request
and have no objection .provided ..the .Applicant..replats .and .provides .all
necessary easements.
The City Plan Commission .has .reviewed -this request and .recommends .adoption
-of an ordinance vacating the publicright-of-way as .requested.
Recommendation
It is re-commended that an ordinance be .adopted vacating subject right-.of-
way as recommended by the City. Plan Commission.
