HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001/02/13-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session FoRT WORTH SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 13, 2001 Date & Time On the 13th day of February, A.D., 2001, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 5:12 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Kenneth Barr; Mayor Pro Tempore Ralph McCloud; Council Members Jim Lane, Chuck Silcox, Becky Haskin, Frank Moss, Clyde Picht, Jeff Wentworth and Wendy Davis; City Manager Bob Terrell; City Attorney David Yett and City Secretary Gloria Pearson. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council meet in closed session at 5:13 p.m. to: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules: a) City of Fort Worth v. Collins and Dean, Cause No. 141-182361-00; b) Collins and Dean vs. City of Fort Worth and Employee Retirement Fund of the City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 141-181434- 00; c) Cities of Denton, Texas, et al. vs. TXU Electric Company, et al., Cause No. 00- 9383-G (Dallas County) d) Elizabeth "Jay" Seymour, Pamela Denise Wright, and Patricia Hale vs. B. Don Magness and the City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 249-68-98; e) Legal issues concerning sexually oriented business; f) Legal issues concerning alley and right- of-way maintenance; CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS FEBRUARY 13,2001 PAGE 2 of 2 g) Legal issues concerning any item on the City Council's regular meeting agenda for February 13, 2001; 178645-99; as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code; and 2. Discuss the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning the appointment of a City Manager, as authorized by Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code. Adjournment There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m. CITY E RETARY MAYOR
