OMINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYIM ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISH IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII of THE CITY CHARTER;
AMENDIM AIL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORM, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort
Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral
part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County,
Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of ]and about four miles northwest of the Courthouse of
Tarrant County, Texas, and lying in the J. Wilcox Survey No. 33, and being
more fully described as follows:
BEGINNIM at a point in the present city limit line of the City of Fort
Worth in the east right-cf- ray line of Rankin Road at its intersection with
the City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth as referred to in the corporate
boundary description of the City of Fort Worth, as contained in the Fort
Worth City Code of 1950;
THENCE northeasterly al ong the present city limit line of the City of
Fort Worth along the east right-of-way line of Rankin Road and of Rankin
Road produced north to the northeasterly right-of-gray line of Jacksboro
Highway (U. S. Highway No. 199);
THENCE northwesterly along the present city limit line of the City of
Fort Worth along the northeasterly right-of-way line of Jaeksbcro Highway to
its intersection with the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth
as referred to in the corporate boundary description of the City of Fort
Worth as contained in the Fort Worth City Code of 1950;
THENCE eaaterly, southerly, and westerly along the present City Limit
Line of the City of Fort Worth, with its meanders, as referred to in the
corporate boundary description of the City of Fort Worth, as contained in the
Fort Worth City Code of 1950, to the place of beginning and containing
approximately..293 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior ordinance in conflict
herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly amends Ordinance No. 3857,
heretofore adopted and passed on July 15, 1963, but as to all other ordinances or
sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and
is hereby made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published-one time in a daily newspaper published
in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter
MVIII of the City Charter.
Section 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance
is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections., subsections,
clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and
indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon
its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the
date of its publications, "as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
