HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001/03/06-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session FoRT WORTH SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 6, 2001 Date & Time On the 6t" day of March, A.D., 2001, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 6:41 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Kenneth Barr; Mayor Pro Tempore Ralph McCloud; Council Members Jim Lane, Chuck Silcox, Becky Haskin, Frank Moss, Clyde Picht, Jeff Wentworth and Wendy Davis; City Manager Bob Terrell; City Attorney David Yett and City Secretary Gloria Pearson. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council meet in closed session at 6:43 p.m. to: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules: a) S. N. Livingston, et al v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 352-176354-98; b) Bradley W. Hickey, et al v. City of Fort Worth, Cause 348-185345-00; c) Fort Worth Professional Fire Fighters Association, Jim Tate, J. R. Sullivan, Landon Stallings, Pat Vasquez and Don Westmoreland, Jr., vs. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 17-185635-00; d) Legal issues concerning the Employee Retirement Fund of the City of Fort Worth; e) Legal issues concerning the building at 500 Throckmorton Street owned by Loutex, L. P., Fort Worth; f) City of Fort Worth v. Collins and Dean, Cause No. 141-182361-00; CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH,TEXAS MARCH 6,2001 PAGE 2 of 2 g) Collins and Dean vs. City of Fort Worth and Employee Retirement Fund of the City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 141-181434- 00; h) Fort Worth 1. S. D. v. City of Fort Worth and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company; Cause No. 348-156227-94; i) Legal issues concerning any item on the City Council's regular meeting agenda for March 6, 2001; as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code; and 2. Discuss the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party; and 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.086 of the Texas Government Code; and Adjournment There being no further business the meeting was adjour d at 7:00 p.m. CIT(V SECRETARY MAYOR
