HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1871 ORDINANCE NO, AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THAT PORTION OF CALMDNT AVENUE BETWEEN THOMAS PLACE AND CLOVER LANE BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED, AND EXCEPTING THE RIGHTS OF ALL PUBLIC UTILIT1M HERETOFORE ACQUIRED IN SAID PORTION OF SAID STREET, AND PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, AND PROVIDING THAT MIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE II29DIATELY. BE IT ORMI ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION I. That,in order to promote and protect the public safety, and particularly the safety of public school pupils and teachers attending the school or schools to be established by the Fort Worth Independent School District on a school site which it has acquired in West Fort Worth Land Company's Fourth Filing to Arlington Heights Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, that portion of Calmont Avenue between Thomas Place and Clover Lane shall be and is hereby vacated, abandoned and closed. SECTION II. That the rights of all public utilities for the purpose of con- structing and maintaining service lines shall not be disturbed, destroyed, revoked or abrogated by any of the provisions of this ordinance, but said rights as above set out shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION III. That the fee to the land in said street shall revert as provided by law. SECTION IV. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION V. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
