ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3271, TIME
PLUMBING CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS,
BY AMENDING PARAGRAPH 14-3(a) THEREOF REGULATING
GAS AND LIQUID HEATING UNITS; DECLARING THAT THIS
ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF ALL OTHER ORDI-
NANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS
CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Ordinance No. 3271, being the Plumbing Code of the City of Fort
Worth, be, and it is hereby, amended, by adding to Paragraph 14-3(a) the fol-
lowing provision:
Suspended radiant gas-fired heaters that have a
ceramic mat burner and that have been approved by the
A. G. A. and the Underwriters Laboratory as unvented
heaters may be used in commercial and industrial build-
ings. Provided, however, that such buildings shall be
not more than one story in height, and constructed of
steel and covered with corrugated metal or re-enforced
concrete, or that such buildings shall be of fire proof
construction with truss roofs having a pitch of not less
than 4 and 12. Such heaters shall be installed in such
buildings at a height of not less than 8 feet above the
floor of the room or rooms in which they are installed
and shall have adequate ventilation at least equivalent
to a minimum of 50 square inches of roof ventilator area
for each 100,000 BTU of gas input to each heater so in-
stalled. The ventilator or ventilators for each such
heater shall be installed in the highest point of the
roof of the building in which such heater is installed.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances of the City
of Fort Worth except in those instances where such ordinances are in conflict
herewith, in which instances the terms of this ordinance shall prevail.
SECTION 3.
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined
not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00).
SECTION 4.
Should any section, article, provision or part of this ordinance be de-
clared to be unconstitutional and void by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
decision shall in no way affect the validity of any of the remaining parts of
this ordinance unless the part held unconstitutional or void is inseparable
from and indispensable to the operation of the remaining parts. The City Coun-
cil hereby declares that it would have passed those parts of this ordinance
which are valid and omitted any parts which may be unconstitutional if it had

SECTION 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from
and after the date of its passage and publication as provided by law.
