HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3069 ORDINANCE NO. o AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CREATION OF A BOARD FOR CORRECTING INSANITARY CONDITIONS IN SLUM AND NEGLECTED AREAS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION I. There is hereby created a board to be known as the "Board for Correct- ing Insanitary Conditions in Slum and Neglected Areas of the City of Fort Worth." SECTION 2. This Board shall consist of fifteen (15) members nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and from the membership an execu- tive committee of five (5) shall be selected. The tenure of office of each member shall be for two (2) years unless that tenure shall expire by reason of death, resignation, inability to serve, or by removal in the way and man- ner provided in Section 3, Chapter XIX of the City Charter, for removal of a member of the Recreation Board. Any vacancy in the membership of the Board shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment. SECTION 3. The purpose of this Board shall be to make a careful survey of the entire City of Fort Worth to determine -the location of areas with existing insanitary conditions, and to make recommendations to the City Council at such times as it may deem appropriate to effect measures that will relieve the affected areas of said insanitary conditions as near as reasonably pos- sible. SECTION 4. The Board shall elect its own Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Secretary and adopt its own rules as to the time and place of its meetings. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.
