HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2869 ORDINANCE APPROPTNG AND ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF THE COSTS OF IMPROVEMENTS AND OF AMOUNTS TO BE ASSESSED FOR IMPROVEMENTS ON A PORTION OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE IN THE, CITY OF FORT NDRTH,TEXAS, FIXING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING TO THE MERS OF ABUTTING PROPERTY AND TO ALL OTHERS INTERESTED AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO GIVE NOTICE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, has heretofore, ordered that the hereinbelow mentioned portion of University Drive be improved by raising„ grading and filling same, constructing concrete curbs and gutters where adequated curbs and gutters are not now installed on proper grade and line, by paving with Six (6) inches reenforced concrete base and one and one-half inch hot mix asphaltic concrete surface, to-gether with incidentals and appurtenances, including drains where necessary, all as provided by the plans and specifications for such improvements, and contract therefor has been made and entered into with GENERAL CONSTRUCTION CCMFANY¢ and, WHEREAS, the City Council of said City has caused the City Engineer to prepare and file estimates of the cost of such improvements, and estimates of the amounts per front foot proposed to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof, and such estimates have been examined: THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS. I. That such estimates be and they are adopted and approved. II. That it is hereby found and determined that the cost of improvements on such portion of University Drive, with the amount or amounts per front foot pro- posed to be assessed for such improvements against the abutting property and the owners thereof, are as follows, to-wit: On University Drive from the South RightrofWay line of the Texas and Pacific railroad to the North end of the Bridge over the Clear Fork of the Trinity River in Forest Park: The estimated cost of the im- provements is a k; the estimated emotmt per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof for combined curb and gutter is $1.90; the estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the gumers thereof for improvements exclusive of combined curb and gutter is $6.68; total estimated amount per front foot to be assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof is $8,58. The improvements to be constructed on the above mentioned and described portion of University Drive in said City of Fort Worth, to consist of raising, -1- grading and filling same, constructing concrete curbs and gutters where adequate curbs and gutters are not now installed on proper grade and line, py paving with Six (6) inches reenforced concrete base and one and one-half inch hot mix asphaltic concrete surface, to-gether with incidentals and appurtenances, including drains where necessary, all as provided by the plans and specifications for such improve- ments. That a hearing to be given and held by and before the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, to all owning or claiming any property abutting upon said portion of University Drive and to all others owning or claiming any interest in any such property. Such hearing shall be given and held on the 2 N day of MA y , 19511, at �:30 o'clock, in the Council Chamber, in the City Hall in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the City Secretary is hereby directed to give notice of the time and place of such hearing and of other matters and facts in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Act passed at the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature of the State of Texas, known as Chapter 106 of the Acts of said Session which Act has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the Charter of the City of Fort Worth. Such notices shall be by advertisement inserted at least three times in a newspaper published in the City of Fort North, Texas, the first publication to be made at least ten (10) days before the date of said hearing and said notice shall comply with and be in accordance with the terms and provisions of said Act.
