met in regular session in the council chamber at the city
hall at 9:30 otclock a. m. the 18th day of April, A. D.
1925 and upon roll call the following were present: H. C.
Meacham, Mayor, Willard Burton, T. B. Hoffer, A. E. Thomas,
Wm. Brice, E. T. Renfro, Wm. Monnig, W. E. A#atin and L. P.
Card, Councilmen, constituting the entire membership of the
Board, and C. S. Snow, City Secretary, was in attendance at
said meeting, and the following proceedings among other
things were had and done:
The following ordinance was introduced by Council-

made and seconded, the said ordinance was unanimously adopted:
ORDINANCE NO. A
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBSTITUTION
AND DELIVERY OF SEVEN THOUSAND ($7,000.00)
DOLLARS CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS MUNICIPAL
BONDS, SERIES 44, DATED FEBRUARY 1, 1924,
NUMBERS SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY SEVEN (797) TO
EIGHT HUNDRED THREE (803) INCLUSIVE, IN LIEU
OF LIKE BONDS HERETOFORE ISSUED BY THE CITY
OF FORT 'NORTH WHICH HAVE BEEN MUTILATED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH:
THAT, WHEREAS, under proceedings heretofore duly
and legally had and adopted by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Fort North, Texas bonds of said city to the
amount of one million one hundred thirty thousand ($1,130,000)
dollars, designated "municipal bonds--Series 44," dated
February 1, 1924, numbered from 1 to 208 inclusive; 232;
257; 283; and 332 to 1250 inclusive, of the denomination
of $1,000 each bearing interest at the rate of five (5)
per centum per annum, payable semi-annually February 1 and
August 1, and maturing serially in numerical order on
February lst in each of the years 1929 to 1964, inclu-
sive, have been issued, sold and delivered; and
WHEREAS, bonds of the above issue to the amount
of seven thousand ($7,000) dollars, being bonds numbers
seven hundred ninety seven (797) to eight hundred three
(803), inclusive, maturing February 1, 1957, have inadvertently
been mutilated, which mutilation seriously affects and im-
pairs the marketability of said bonds, and the holder of
the bonds has requested that the City of Fort Worth pre-
pare, issue and deliver substituted bonds in lieu of the
mutilated bonds above referred to, and it is the desire
of the City of Fort forth to comply with the wishes of
the holder of said mutilated bonds.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE, CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION I
That the Mayor and City Secretary of Fort Worth,
Texas be and they are hereby authorized to have printed and
prepared seven thousand ($7,000) dollars, City of Fort Worth,
Texas municipal bonds--series 44, dated February 1, 1924,
maturing February 1, 1957, numbered from 797 to 803 inclu-
sive, denomination of $1,000 each, interest five (5) per
centum per annum, payable semi-annually February 1 and
August 1, with necessary coupons to be thereto attached repre-
senting interest to accrue upon said bonds hereafter, such
bonds and coupons to be printed in all respects the same
form as the mutilated bonds in lieu and in substitution of
which they are to be issued, and such bonds after being
properly printed and prepared with the necessary coupons
thereto attached shall be executed by the Mayor and City
Secretary acting for and on behalf of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, and shall have the fac simile signatures of said
Mayor and the City Secretary affixed to the coupons to be
attached to said bonds, which fac simile signatures are
hereby adopted as and for a due and sufficient authentioation
of said coupons, and the corporate seal of the City of Fort
Worth shall thereupon be affixed to said bonds.
SECTION II
That the bonds referred to in the preceding para-
graph of this ordinance shall be issued by the City of Fort
Worth, Texas in lieu of and in substitution for municipal
bands--aeries 44, bearing the same date, numbers and
maturities heretofore issued which have been mutilated,
upon the surrender by the holder of such mutilated bonds.
SECTION III
That the new bonds to be prepared and executed by
the Mayor and City Secretary of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas shall be submitted to the Attorney General of the State
of Texas for his approval, together with a certified copy of
this (r dinanee, and such substituted bonds shall thereafter
be submitted to the Comptroller of Public Accounts of the
State of Texas for registration, but shall not be registered
by him until the mutilated bonds have been submitted to him
for cancellation and duly cancelled.
SECTION IV
That the substituted bonds herein referred to,
after being duly executed by the Mayor and City Secretary
of Fort Worth, Texas, end approved by the Attorney General
of the State of Texas, and registered by the Comptroller
of Public Accounts of the State of Texas, shall be the
acts, deeds and obligations of the City of Fort Worth, on
the cancellation of the mutilated bonds by the Comptroller
of Public Accounts of the State of Texas and delivery to
the holder of such substituted bonds.
SECTION V
All ordinances andparts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be and same are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION vI
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force from and after its passage and it is so or-
dained.

And the motion to adopt said ordinance having
been submitted by the Mayor presiding at said meeting all
of the Councilmen, including the Mayor, voted aye thereon
and none voted no; whereupon the ordinance was declared to
be duly passed and adapted by unanimous vote of the City
Countil of the City of Fort Worth, Texas.
I, C. S. Snow, City Secretary of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, do hereby certify that the above and fore-
going is a true and correct copy of an ordinance passed by
the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas at a
regular meeting held in the Council Chamber at the city
hall at 9:30 o'clock a. mt on the 18th day of April, A. D.
