Project Description Name: Assessment Paving at Two Miscellaneous Locations, Project No. 104-24000-264, Contract No. 9355 dated May 24, 1977. Contractor: Texas Bitulithic Cor:-any Contract Awarded: May 24, 1977 (M&C C-3792) Work Order Issued: August 19, 1977 Work Order Effective: September 5, 1977 Work Began: September 5, 1977 Project Substantially Complete and Final Inspection Made: April 26, 1978 Final Construction Approval: June 19, 1978 Working Time Bid: 37 Working Days Working Time Used: 27 Working Days Project Cost and Financing Original Bid Price: $58,706.05 Change Order No. 1: $ 219.50 (A.R, 1-15, 2.3.1) Revised Bid Price: $58,925.55 Final Contract Cost: $51,447.95 Partial Payments Previously Made: 3 Amount: $44,233.16 Final Payment Due: $ 7,214.79 Sufficient funds are available for the final payment to be made from Project Number 104-24000-264. Deviation from Bid Price The final contract cost of this project is $7,477.60 under the revised bid price. The major portion of the savings, $3,915, resulted because no seepage was encountered and it was not necessary to construct subdrains. A savings of $1,622.88 was realized because the quantity of 9-inch asphalt paving on Riverside Drive required 122 s.y. less than estimated, and less utility adjustments were necessary than estimated, resulting in a savings of $1,179.10. The remaining cost difference, $760.62, is attributed to minor variations between quantities estimated in the Contract Specifications and quantities measured and used at the job site. Compliance with Specifications Tests made during construction show materials used and required thicknesses are in compliance with Contract Specifications. Recommendation It is recommended that the project described be accepted by the adoption of an ordinance and final payment of $7,214.79 be made to Texas Bitulithic Company.
