AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 434 PROVIDING FOR THE
PAYMENT OF A REWARD BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE ARREST
AND FINAL CONVICTION OF ANY PERSON COMMITTING ARSON WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, AND PROVID-
ING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN PULL
FORCE 1AbM EFFECT FHOU ADID ARM THI DATE OF ITS PASSAGE.
WHEREAS, on July 16, 1914 Ordinance No. 434 was duly enacted by
the Board of Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth and provides as fol•-'
lows:
"Ordinance No. 434
An Ordinance providing for the payment of a reward, by the
City of Fort Worth, for the arrest and final conviction of any
person committing arson within the corporate limits of the City
of Fort Worth, and providing for the posting of proper notices
of such reward.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Fort Worth, that.
Section 1. The Oity of Fort Worth shall pay the sum of
One pollar for each one hundred population of the City of Fort
Worthi as shown by the last preceding united States census# to
any person who shall cause the arrest and final conviction of
any person or persons guilty of arson within the City limits of
the City of Fort Worth.
Section 2. That no officer, agent, servant or employe of
the City of Fort Worth, shall ever be entitled to receive or col-
lect from the City of Fort Worth any part of the foregoing reward.
Section 3. That suitable placards shall be posted and kept
posted in all public buildings in the City of Fort Worth, showing
that such reward is offered, by whom and the amount thereof.
Section 4. That any person tearing down destroying or mutilat-
ing any such placard when posted, as provided by this ordinance,
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction be
fined in any sum not exceeding $25.00.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and publication.

I hereby certify that the above and foregoing ordinance was
duly presented and unanimously passed and adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Fort Worth at a session of said Board
held Saturday, October 17th, 1914.

AND WHEREAS, it now appears to the City Council of the City of
Fort Worth that, on account of changed conditions, no public benefit is to
be derived from said ordinance and that said ordinance should be in all
things repealed and of no further force and effect, NOVI, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TIE cif 00UNCIL OF THE CITY OF .POET WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That Ordinance No. 434, as described herein, be and the same
is hereby repealed.
SECTION II.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage as required by law.
