AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE EAST WEST ALLEY
BETWEEN LOTS 8 AND 9, BLOCK 12, TEXAS & PACIFIC
RAILWAY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, BE ABANDONED, VACATED
AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE
INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the east west alley between Lots 8 and 9, Block
12, Texas & Pacific Railway Addition to the City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby
vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or
public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the
fee to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby re-
leased and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as
provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

John S. Fogarty, owner of all adjoining property, has requested the City to vacate
the east-west alley between Lots 8 and 9, Block 12, of the Texas and Pacific
Railway Addition, as shown on the attached map.
The subject alley is not open on the ground and the Applicant intends to replat
the vacated right-of-way with his adjoining properties to provide additional
off-street parking.
City Departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and
have no objection to this vacation, provided the applicant plats the vacated
right-of-way with his adjoining properties.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of
an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested, subject to the
conditions recommended by the City Departments and private utility companies.
The Applicant has submitted a replat as requested by the City Plan Commission.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the alley as
recommended by the City Plan Commission.
