APPROVED AS TO FOFJ4 AND LEGALITY, City Attorney City of Fort Worth, Texas % .mayor and Council Communication DATE REFERENCE SUBJECT: PAGE NUMBER Designation of Street Name 1 12/5/63 G-572 Ha.rrin ton Averrue I or In connection with a petitioned assessment paving project now in process, it has been determined that no name is officially recorded for a block long seg- ment of a street lying adjacent to Oakwood Cemetery. Dedication of the roadway and plats of Blocks 136 and 137, North Fort Worth Addition, which were filed on December 12, 1914, include no name for the roadway extending south from Grand Avenue to the south line of Lot 11, Block 135, North Fort Worth Addition. Attached is a plat which shows that the roadway could logically be considered an extension of Harrington_ Avenue. A majority of the adjacent property owners along the unnamed street offered no objection to the Harrington Avenue name when the matter was discussed during the neighborhood paving hearing on September 30, 1963, despite the fact that the roadway has been known locally as Terrace Street for a number of years. In order to avoid confusion in the completion of assessment paving documents and to provide for naming of the street .in a logical manner, it is recommended that an ordinance be adopted naming as Harrington Avenue that roadway as des- cribed above and as shown on the attached plat.
