ORDINANCE NO. 7 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an ingegral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: Being a tract of land about nine (9) miles southwest from the Court House of Tarrant County, Texas, lying in and including all or part of the M. E. Asbury, N. B. Risk, J. F. Heath and T. $ P. Railroad Co. Surveys and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, said point being the intersection of the easterly right-of-way line of the Old Granbury Road (County Road No. 1089) and the north line of the N. B. Risk Survey produced westerly, THENCE southwesterly and southerly along the southeasterly and easterly right-of-way line of the Old Granbury Road (County Road No. 1089) to its intersection with the north line of the T. $ P. Railroad Company Survey, THENCE in an easterly direction, along the north line of the T. & P. Railroad Company Survey, a distance of 1070 feet to a point, THENCE southerly along a line parallel to and 1070 feet east of the east right-of-way line of the Old Granbury Road (County Road No. 1089), a distance of 1430 feet to a point, THENCE westerly along a line parallel to and 1430 feet south of the north line of the T. & P. Railroad Company Survey and along said line produced westerly to its intersection with the westerly right-of- way line of the Old Granbury Road (County Road No. 1089), THENCE northerly and northwesterly along the westerly and north- westerly right-of-way line of the Old Granbury Road (County Road No. 1089), to its intersection with the north line of the N. B. Risk Survey produced westerly, THENCE easterly along the north line of the N. B. Risk Survey produced west to the place of beginning and containing approximately .055 square miles. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals Ordinance No. 3823, heretofore adopted and passed on May 16, 1958, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be Published one time in a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained. P2_ 27 July 2, 1962 Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council Re: Annexation of the Dan Danciger City of Fort Worth Jewish Community Center Tract Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen: Representatives of the Dan Danciger Jewish Community Center have requested that a 27 acre roc sou3`Ti of the Wedgwood Addittan--bc Worth. The City Planning Department has made a study of this request and has submitted a report covering the major points of this problem. It is the recommendation of the Planning Director that a 35. 1 acre tract be annexed, including 27 acres belonging to the Dan Danciger Jewish Community Center and an additional 8. 1 acres which it is recommended be annexed to provide an orderly city boundary alignment. A copy of the Planning Department report Is attached, and ordinances annexing the 35. 1 acre tract are available. Council action on the re- quested annexation Is required.
