HomeMy WebLinkAboutContract 38536-A5 ARY VjECENED AMENDMENT No.5 GON f RACT NO. 390(o-,S jAN 7 2020 CI off REiAM TO CITY SECRETARY CONTRACT clviiWHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth (CITY) and Alan Plummer Associates, Inc. , (ENGINEER) made and entered into City Secretary Contract No. 38536, (the CONTRACT) which was authorized by M&C C-38536 on the 319t day of March, 2009 in the amount of $889, 676.00; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT was subsequently revised by: Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $79,414 . 00 which was authorized by M&C C-24626 on December 7, 2010, Amendment No. 2 in the amount of $408, 795.00 which was authorized by M&C C- 28193 on April 18, 2017 and Amendment No. 3 in the amount of $90, 740. 00 administratively authorized March 20, 2018 and Amendment No. 4 in the amount of $261,005 .00 which was authorized by M&C C-29096 on April 16, 2019; and WHEREAS, the CONTRACT involves engineering services for the following project: Sanitary Sewer Main 257 Upper and Middle Village Creek Parallel Relief Main Part 2; and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to execute Amendment No. 5 to the CONTRACT to include an increased scope of work and revised fee. NOWTHEREFORE, CITY and ENGINEER, acting herein by and through their duly authorized representatives, enter into the following agreement, which amends the CONTRACT: 1 . Article I of the CONTRACT is amended to include the additional engineering services specified in a proposal dated November ZgA; 2019 a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein. The cost to City for the additional design services to be performed by Engineer total $40,751 .00 . 2 . Article II of the CONTRACT is amended to provide for an increase in the fee to be paid to Engineer for all work and services performed under the Contract, as amended, so that the total fee paid by the City for all work and services shall be an amount of $1, 770,381 . 00 . Be it further resolved that the following voting members, ex-officio members, and past members of the Board of Directors who are employees of Alan Plummer Associates, Inc. are hereby authorized to sign contracts on behalf of the corporation for an unlimited amount. All contracts greater than $50,000 require the review of at least one other principal of the firm. Such authorization is contingent upon their remaining an employee of the firm and shall automatically be rescinded when their employment ends. Contract Amendment No. 5 Design Services for Part 2B. Dear Mr. Kasavich: This Contract Amendment No. 5 is provided for Design Services for the completion of design of Upper and Middle Village Creek Sanitary Sewer M-257 Relief Pipeline, Part 2. The detailed scope (Exhibit A), for Contract Amendment No. 5 is attached to this letter. This amendment is necessary to allow Plummer Associates, Inc to update the design drawings and specifications based on field changes on Burleson Retta Road and the Southern Oaks Golf Course (SOGC). The following services will be provided: 1) Topographic survey updates of the following: a. Burleson Retta Road Crossing recently relocated by TxDOT and Tarrant County. b. Temporary Construction Staging area on SOGC recently identified by SOGC. c. New Overhead Electrical Pole layout on SOGC. d. Survey of surface components of irrigation system on the temporary and permanent easements on SOGC. e. Survey of electrical improvements on SOGC. f. Coordinate with Golf Course, Oncor and Tarrant County staff for the survey collection and approval of roadway crossing. g. Quality control of new survey data. 2) Update plans and specifications and permits as follows: a. Update design sheet for Burleson Retta Road Crossing. b. Update design sheets for Golf Course new electrical improvements c. Update design plans based on City lessons learned from three recent construction projects in Village Creek basin. d. Evaluate Odor potential in the system and design the odor control units. e. Coordinate and secure new utility crossing permit and access permit from Tarrant County. f. Update the opinion of probable construction cost. g. Review and Coordination meetings(four)with the City and SOGC. h. Quality control of final plans and specs. It is our understanding that the City would like to advertise this project as soon as possible.
