Dalworth Rentals, a partnership, with consent of Creative Child Care, Inc ,
owners of Tract "A", Block 103, Hallmark Addition, has requested that the
City vacate the north 26' of Sycamore School Road in the 1300 block adja-
cent to Tract "A", Block 103, Hallmark Addition, a length of 450.7 feet
eastward from Camelot Road as dedicated through a plat recorded in Volume
388-52, Page 56, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas.
The subject right-of-way, a 26' strip along the north side of Sycamore
School Road, contains a drainageway and a sanitary sewer facility, but is
otherwise vacant. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and
recommends its approval subject to conditions which have now been met.
This request vacation stems from a change in City plans regarding the
ultimate right-of-way needed along Sycamore School Road. At the time that
adjacent property was platted Sycamore School Road was believed to need
a total right-of-way of 120' in order to allow the construction of a major
thoroughfare. Subsequently, however, a major thoroughfare was planned
along the westward extension of Everman Parkway - located to the south of
this segment of Sycamore School Road. Right-of-way needs for Sycamore
School Road were reduced from 120' to 68' . The subject vacation request
is consistent with the 68' right-of-way.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject
right-of-way as requested.
