HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001/07/10-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 10, 2001 Date & Time On the 10th day of July, A.D., 2001, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 7:20 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Kenneth Barr; Mayor Pro Tempore Ralph McCloud; Council Members Jim Lane, Chuck Silcox, Becky Haskin, Clyde Picht, and Wendy Davis; City Manager Gary Jackson; City Attorney David Yett and City Secretary Gloria Pearson. Council Members Frank Moss and Jeff Wentworth were absent. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Recessed The City Council recessed at 7:20 p.m. Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council reconvene into closed session at 9:18 p.m. to: 1. Seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules and as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code: a) S.N. Livingston, et al v. City of Fort Worth; Cause No. 352-176354-98; b) Fort Worth Professional Fire Fighters Association, Jim Tate, J.R. Sullivan, Landon Stallings, Pat Vasquez, and Don Westmoreland, Jr. v. City of Fort Worth; Cause No. 17-185635-00; c) Bradley Hickey, et al v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 348-1285345-00; d) Luis T. Hernandez, et al v. City of Fort Worth, et al, Civil Action No. 4:99-CV- 0318-Y; e) Legal issues concerning the United States Defense Research lease at Spinks Airport; CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS JULY 10, 2001 PAGE 2 of 2 f) William Fox, Jr. v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 00-01-035 (Wise County); g) Fred Rogers v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 17-177711-99; and h) Legal issues concerning any item on the City Council meeting agenda for July 10, 2001; i) Legal issues concerning proposed National Fire Protection Association Standard 1710. 2. Discuss the purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property in accordance with Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. Deliberation in an open meeting would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party. 3. Deliberate concerning economic development negotiations as authorized by Section 551.086 of the Texas Government Code.
